This isn't a "first" or anything, back in 1997 one of the Packers members (was it Chumura?) refused to go to the White House to be honored for the Super Bowl win because he thought the Monika Lewisky thing was deplorable and he despised Clinton for it.

Too bad he was later charged with sexually abusing his family's 17 year old babysitter a few years later. I think he was found not guilty in his case, just like Clinton. The term "impeached" means about the same as "charged" in the rest of the non-political world.

What is that thing about stones and glass houses? This fellow from the Bruins is welcome to his opinion/viewpoint, but being a devoted follower of Glenn Beck isn't a plus in my book.

Understand "institution" such as presidency as opposed to office of the president----the presidency can be dragged down, the office of the president is a formal constitutionally established branch of our government according to the document by "we the people". I for one do not think our values of a free people are diminished by periods of poor governing skills of a poor office holder. I would hope that we still support our constitution whether we have a few bad office holders or not. So to clarify what I was really saying is not my country right or wrong.....but if you do not support rule by the constitution just exactly what do you support if you live here?

Urqh is correct. While I am an Obama supporter, he is only borrowing the office for his term. One of the great things about the US is the peaceful transition of power. Thomas is tor be commended for his stand, even though I think he missed an opportunity.
