Gotta take a look at "The Gestapo's Last Orgy" next. Man the 70s was a golden age for WW2 era movies.

    Whatever.....

Some of my favorite posts are in the old "latrine" section. I wish we still had access to our disciplinary records. one comment that stands out was: "Cosmetic infraction", bestowed on me by none other than Otto his self, don't even remember why or who I flamed / was flamed by.

I even did some cooler time over at WW2 Talk (Glasshouse)....not many live to tell that tale.

A very Quixotle life I have lead here

I do miss Za...anyone know his current haunt?

Some of our best members had multiple stays in Cooler.

I remember the "Cosmetic Infraction" given to you because a flame war broke out and I gave bith parties the option to bury the hatchet. You agreed, he didn't. I sanctioned both parties, but your infraction had no posting restrictions after just a few hours passed. The other party stewed for a week. See? I can be a benevolent dictator. :eek:tto_ironfist:

I do miss Za also. Hopefully his absence is due to the same cause as urqh's, he's focusing on a lady.

I think the only Moderator that didn't toss me in was Lou.... Skipper and Jeff on the other hand were old hats at ignoring me and letting me stew.

I remember it.....don't really remember the other party seems like it had something to do with Pearl Harbor and a bus load of English speaking ninja.

Za and Urqh leaving had more to do with interactions with other members than women. Unfortunately neither bothered to come back once the knuckleheads, who offended them, were run off. I still keep in touch with urqh on social media. Za is MIA, maybe Adam knows more of his current situation.

I enjoyed both Za and urqh. I had many interactions with both, but more with urqh. I wish they would come back.

Brad, what is urqh's username. Is he on Facebook?

Lou, urqh goes by Thomas Murphy on Facebook. He posts there frequently, until sheep coppering time arrives, whatever that is.

I hope the current Mrs. Urqh doesn't see that or she'll never let him out of the sheepfold.

I recall having some interesting back-and-forths with Urqh and his 'famous' Rogue stories.

As for how I found this forum back when it was first born, I believe I was partaking in a WW2 PBEM (Play By E-Mail for you all you snowflakes) where we had an OOB and had to consult Atlases (there was no such thing as GOOGLE back then) in order to issue orders. The more well written they were the better the outcome (generally speaking). I had virtually no knowledge of WW2 at the same and in this case, I was playing as an Italian General in charge of the North Africa campaign. I realized I had no idea what I was doing or what the historical outcome had been, so went looking for information!

Ironically, I was going to pick ROMMEL for my forum name but figured I'd receive flak for using a NAZIS name - so I picked MUSSOLINI instead!:eek::eek:(I had no idea who he really was at the time, or much of anything about the FASCISTS!):eek::eek:

In retrospect, I would have gone with LRDGRat or even Popski (of Popskis Private Army fame). How my knowledge has grown over the years!

back in 2002 I had made my mind to join a site. I was watching some 5 different sites and thought that ww2f was the best with friendly people and and who also knew alot about ww2 and could help me know more and discuss about many military matters. I think I chose the right place.
