Hi ay, it will get seen if I have to hire a computer nerd to post things for me. However, the original pics I have should start appearing soon as well as more to follw with Skipper doing the finger-work but thats still a few weeks away (Skippers) help that is ;-)) Im hoping to find out in the morning to see if that photo studio has managed to make my CDS yet?
Hey Ron! Great to see you over here! I'm curious, did you hold on to any one, or few, items that held special meaning for you? Or did you get rid of everything? Hope all is well! Scott
Bigfun The only two "bulky" memorabilia items I owned when I came home on final leave were, to my shame. a Nazi dress dagger and a canvas "Gott mitt uns" belt completely covered with German metal insignia. The dagger I dropped overboard as the ferry landed, the belt disappeared to I know not where and somwhere along the way (probably when I went into dock from Cassino) I lost my diaries for 1943 & 1944. My memories, I am glad to say, are still with me.
was the dagger dropped overboard because of "no weapons allowed" or someting like that Ron? pity about your notebooks 43/44.......would be nice to still have those
Hi Ray, thank you and I sure would li=ove to give explanations on them too. I have many press photos that still have their "news tickers" on them and I can tell you names, dates and such ;-)) I forgot to mention that Skipper started a thread for me a few months ago titled something like: "Carls militaria photos" or something like that? That thread is here in the militaria section and should hopefully show most of the images that Skipper posted for me. Most of those images had a watermark on them from the dealer. So im excited to get these pics up here-but without the dealser markings on them. Ill look for the thread and bump it back here and hopefully some of the images are still in it ;-))

Alan very nice and very clean, looks good with framed docs. not sure about your background wall paper selection though as it may have been from the Mrs. ............... ? word of caution don't let the books lay flat for too very long as the binding will be destroyed the centers will separate out easily with pages falling to the floor.........first hand experience there if I can ever get the main office cleansed of all my family's junk then I will properly show some of the collection, right now 8/10ths are housed away safely in boxes and in acid free containers/packaging which is all important for docs and photos.
