That's a very peremptory statement. Would you like to extend on how do you arrrive to this conclusion, explaining your reasons to think so? For some of us a single sentence on a complex subject is not enough, we need to have the facts explained to us.

I give up, Hitler was in no way reponsable for the invasion of the Soviet Union, he was not responsable for the loss of the 6th Army at Stalingrad, He was not responsable in the diversion of armoured forces on the doorstep of Moscow, He was not responsable for splitting Army Group South in A & B thus weakening his forces.

In fact Hitler was not responsable for the invasion of Poland, i believe it was some private named Fritz who started it, that must be it, NOW I GET IT.

Let me ask you this Roddoss, did Eisenhower state how many tanks, cases of ammo, types of artillery pieces, crates of Spam, number of socks, yadda yadda he wanted ordered prior to D-Day?

There is a difference between ordering the invasion of a country and getting into the details of the handling of POWs.

The same problem was encountered in the modern day Gulf War were Iraqis were surrendering to hovering helicopters. Did Bush give orders on how to process them? NO. The military staffs did.

You are now being flippant, you know what i was talking about, every decision on the battlefield in regards to major unit movements by the German Army down to battalion level had to get the direct approval by Adolf Hitler and you know that, but you wont admit to it, and brining in Eisenhower and your reference to the Iraq war mk II is ridiculous.

Now i wait for the kneejerk reaction.

    Regards.

Are you sure this is a civilised discussion? What arguments are you bringing in? Do you think just tossing soundbites is enough? Sorry, no, a discussion is made up of properly ordered arguments and as you don't put up such how can we respond properly?

I think its about time to close this thread. Ottos attempt to leave it open to allow people to cool off hasnt seemed to have worked out too well. In fact, a totally new arguement sprung up along with things getting out of hand.

Be thankfull that :mattc: is here, and not der :pzp:!
