Every otther topic somebody mention nukes.France 2 use nukes VS israel?Isreal army fight vs techical inferior opponent allways, and they bigg brotther (USA)protect them, and support, politicaly and finantial.I dont know how will be scenario if they meet matching opponent, but i seriusly doubt that israel will win,at least withouth bigg casulties. And dont forget France is NATO,isralel is not, france is EU,so that can make serius destress in NATO and EU.

    "Technologically inferior opponents?"
I honestly don't think the Israelis are concerned with serious thoughts of going to war against France...

The Israelis HAVE crossed swords with more than irregular Palestinian-forces over the years though.
I certainly wouldn't brand Egyptians, Syrians and Jordanians as inferior opponents. The majority of these forces were equipped with first-line combat technology/weapons supplied by the Soviets. (In the '67 Arab-Israeli War, the Jordanians were equipped with a battalian of M-47 Pattons. They were decimated by the Israelis.)

While the United States has always supported the Israelis in arms and intel, and no doubt politically and fiscally... I don't recall American boots on the ground any closer than Lebanon or Egypt.
The Israelis fight their own battles and wars, using their troops and the materiale supplied by a number of countries. If theres a dollar/franc to be made, the French will sell them weapons too.
I've always admired their ability to use everything in their disposal... like all those Syrian T-62s collected after the '73 war. The Israelis re-engined, and re-armed them with 105mm (French?British?) guns and used them against their original owners in the form of the Ti-67.

    .
there had been also mock attack by israelis jets against german ships ,
including firing of a flare , the german srtongly protested .
Israel in the past has fired and inflicted casualties on FINUL ,
the UN mandate is for the present force to protect the integrity of lebanon
    and its borders
Hezbollah look upon the international force as lackeys of israel and the US
they wouldn't not mind taking them on ,
there is also the suspicion that some of those violations were some hothead
israeli fly boys playing silly stunt ,
    :smok:
