Eh----he was once a great actor and a much better leader than clinton could ever dream of being. The cartoon should be of clinton.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks--I love it and have it on DVD as well.

Just on the weekend--I kinda had a"shopping spree" on DVD's. I bought three classics for just under $30.00--not including taxes.

    I got:

Sink The Bismarck--which I thoroughlu enjoyed. I had not seen this movie since I was knee-high to a grasshopper.

Next one I got was; Die Langest Tag, The Longest Day--if I spelled that correctly in Deutsch. I/ve probably seen this 30 or more times over the years--and I STILL get the same enjoyment from it every time I see it. Watched the DVD again for the third time last night. :D

The third DVD is of course-- Patton. I couldn't pass this up at less than $10.00 and i'll be watching it tonight. :D

Dear Friend, i have discovered this really great forum by surfing the web about the WW2 FUN MOVIE called KELLY'S HEROES wich was made 1970 in my former native country JUGOSLAVIA !!!

My very personal exciting part of the movie was made at a little place named VIZINADA wich is just arround the corner where i used to live long time ago. Some of you who are nut's like me about this movie they should recognize this place right on the spot, here some NEWpictures....

The town is mostly the same as it was in the production, as seen in the Photograph of the church square, in which the confrontation with the Tiger Tank takes place !!!

Does anyonye remember this ridge from the movie ???

If some of you like visit this place, here is the map of ISTRIA wich is part of a country named today CROATIA !!!

The village VIZINADA is located on the north-west side near another unique place named MOTOVUN wich was a location for the upcoming RED TAIL'S movie !!!

That was a T-34 tank loaned to the movie production crew for the movie, since that now non-existent nation had a stock of both the M4 Shermans needed, and Soviet tanks for the shoot. They (movie people) disquised the T-34 with plywood and styrofoam to make it look like a "Tiger".

That show was also the one responsible for so many young Americans coming up with the notion that the Tiger was diesel powered. It wasn't, but they had to hide the fact they were using Soviet T-34's which were diesel powered somehow. And that was the "trick", they used, which re-enforces the saying "don't use the movies for your history".

Sorry no.... this particular ridge is where they discussed their strategy and looked down at the BELLTOWER right before they drove with the SHERMAN TANK into the town !!!

I was up on that ridge (beautifull sight) but i left my camera in the car... i'll go visit my native country this summer again and i will look for other spots from that movie. Due my last visit i have talked with some oldtimers from that village and they gave me some usefull infos about other filming locations in that area !!!

"Kelly's Heroe's" is just one of those fun, entertaining War Movies in the same light of "Where Eagles Dare" and "The Dirty Dozen". Forget history, forget accuracy, just enjoy it because it's a "War Movie"!!! And any war movie (with the sole exception of "Battle of the Last Panzer") is better than any Lifetime film anyday!!!!
