Yes/No,actually. More or less I am looking for "cracks in the pavement" i.e. things that don´t look good about the item(s). If something looks wrong usually there´s more wrong with the rest. And that´s when I leave it... We´ll see.

According to one of the authors, Kjetil Aakra, they still have a few copies left of the first edition. The price is 890,- Norwegian Kroners, equivalent to US $151,50 excl. S&H.
There are plans for a second edition, but it's uncertain when.

nice big deduction Kai I would think seriously on this one for purchase, T Reidel pics are not seen much in any form whether the ship or the crew, a very long ship history one that made it till wars end which was rare for a Zerstörer of the Kriegsmarine.

side note the fine foto of the crew on the self loading 3,7cm twin slow firing ........... until revamped with the 3.7cm 42 single in the Barbara refit whit the TR certainly went through at some point probably not fully.

Thanx for the tip, Erich! I am glad I got the hang of whose pics these are as previously it was not so clear. I noticed the T Reidel was alot helping the evacuation of Kourland and East Prussia towards the end of war but there´s no mention of pics from there...weird..

Kai it appears to be an early album say pre-war and then early years to 1943 possibly. I note the great looking portrait foto of the man with the T-Reidel cap talley so this shot is before the war or very close to it as his talley would of changed to Kriegsmarine when the Destroyer was on WW 2 operations as part of the operational cover-up for security reasons also the 6 on the bow of the Destroyer would also have been removed once the war started and only after surrender re-applied by allied capturing forces

As you rightly mentioned the 1945 evacuation of civilians and military personnel plus in most likelihood also performed off shore bombardments of Soviet invading positions

    Great Album kai !

post # 30 top pic of the Tirpitz in disperse camouflage in July 1942, port side. During 1942 the barrels of the guns on the Tirpitz had a dark grey camo above and sea-white/grey on the lower sections. this camo was one of several on this heavy ship.
