From what i have heard, the second doper is Moreni...one of the riders who protested at the beginning of todays stage! Oh the French!

Dammit, this really bites! I was enjoying watching Vinokourov and actually starting to root for him to win because I figure Levi might not be doing too well this week.

 

at this point in the tour I feel personally all the top contenders are f****d up. I may just leave the TV off..........

there is no point in Landis even trying to push for taking the 06 tour leadership as nobody really cares anymore.

the pro-sport seems washed up in my opinion

Great TT today! Wow! Closest Tour De France ever...top 3 riders all within 31 seconds of each other!

Levi was 9 seconds away from taking 2nd Place, though he did win the stage rather handidly! Nearly a minute ahead of Cadel Evans. 4th Fastest TdF TT ever for Levi! Pretty impressive as it is also his first Stage Win.

Contador did pretty good. His 2 min lead got cut down to 20 seconds or so, and he finished 5th in the Stage.

Not entirely sure, but that is how it will probably stand at the end of tomorrow. DISCO will also win Team Competition, with 3 Riders in Top 10 (1st, 3rd, 8th) and they also had 4 Riders in top 10 Places of todays finish (Popo and Hincapie).

 

What were they on ? Sounds like I could use some......

I hope it isn't one of the pussy into Paris with champagne rides and it shouldn't be. the top 6 have something to prove and I hope they rip it up right till the end, now that will make an exciting finish to one of the more troubling TdF's ever. Exciting and mysterious as always. Wonder if they can scratch off the guys officiating on versus for next year and get some better folk like Lance and Lemond side by side ........ would not that be something, nah will never happen, or so good lookin bike babes

 

Well, outside of the Top 3 (31 seconds diff between 1st and 3rd) the next rider (Sastre- who sucked in Mtns) is nearly 8 Minutes behind. So to duke it out would be the Top 3 (two of which are on same team). The only way Cadel Evans could possibly win would be winning both Sprints on the stage (6 Secs each) AND win the stage (20 sec bonus). DISCO could always use Hincapie to make sure he does not do that.


Just checked online and it seems like the race is over. Its traditional not to go for GC on last day of riding so i think they are going to stick to that. I imagine those top 3 riders will be right next to each other the whole time too.

My fav. moment today was when Levi was talking after race about whether he would try to leapfrog Cadel tomorrow. He said he didnt want to pull a 'Vinokorouv' (Vino it seems must have done that to Levi on last day of a previous tour).

 

Tried to find a nice joke in the net to end this year´s tour de France with a smile on our faces...failed miserably...anyway here it is...

Any predictions for who will win next year?

 

Wont really have an idea until we see what that teams look like and how various individuals look in the Classics and Giro. Not to mention who will be able to race pending Doping investigations.

I'd say LL and Cadel Evans probably have the best chance based on this years performance. AC will have hard time defending title, esp if 'Spider' Soler is around in the Mtns.

 

Those you posted were the ones I would choose as well. I did like the fact that two countries were represented as being winners this year--who had never been in the top three before. I could not believe at how close the times were though--really was amazing IMO. Great athletes who made the race enjoyable to watch. If this years race gets released on DvD, I think i'd buy it.
