Hi Urgh, truthfully, I think most of "it" is nothing more than a sagging carreer revival publicity stunt. And knowing some about those tow--I wouldn't doubt that I am right about it
Hi A/Keystone. Keystone-I fully agree with ya. Oh and-if billery or the bulge-eyes thing ever go work @ Hooters-im permanantly bpycotting their business due to going blind.
Just wanted you all to know the most recent results of my poll on my website asking if Madonna should remake Casablanca: 68% consider it "sacrilege". The remainder of votes are evenly split between "yes" and "no" - if you want to record your opinion here's the link: Victory Theater: Hollywood in World War II -- the poll's atop at right and there's also a link to the original article. Personally, I agree with A-58, but we fought a war for democracy, so everyone's entitled to their opinion. Thanks!
An update about "material girls" try at adopting that 2nd Child from Afrika. An African Judge denied her request to adopting that child--I don't know what the reason for denial was but--I THINK it might have had something to do with that childs relatives???
Speaking of remakes, didn't they make a failed mini-series about Casablanca back in the 80s? And then a sequel to Gone With the Wind as well? Some people have no shame....
A 58, dont you mean the British version...The original screenplay you lot nicked? YouTube - French and Saunders-Gone with the Wind
I was unable to pull it up urqh, so I don't know....could be though! I went over to imdb and pulled up the 80s version of Casablanca. It was a short-lived series (5 episodes) that came out in 1983 with David Soul as Rick Blaine and Hector Elizondo as Captain Renault (Louie). According to the description, the series was set in Casablanca before the time frame of the movie that we are familiar with. Might have to see if Netflix has it yet, it looked interesting, or rather, blasphemous. I must review it before I can call it blasphemous of course, to be cinematically correct (cc)....Like smut films you know....gotta see'em first!
It is sacrilege! There are very few movies that should NEVER be remade; Casablanca is one, along with "Citizen Kane", "Cool Hand Luke", and "It's a wonderful life". I can think of a ton that shouldn't be touched, including Kelly's Heroes (just to keep this WWII based). I mean, have we gotten to the point where we've run out of movies worth making?? Come on, it cant be THAT bad if we can exhume Vin diesel to make another "Fast & Furious".......Well, maybe it is that bad after all...
Chico "Justa think boss we finally getta remake." Groucho "Sure but which one of us will Madonna play?" Chico "Wheresa Harpo gone?" Groucho "He's gone for a Malawi." Chico "Woss a Malawi? Groucho "About four fluid ounces."
I am so sick of this woman! Her acting (and music) doesn't impress me. I hope she dropped this idea! How long has it been now? A year since she brought it up? Yes, I hope she moves onto something more reasonable. My advice to her: If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Casablanca AINT Casablanca without Bogie, Citizen Kane AINT Citizen Kane w/o Orson Welles, Cool Hand Luke AINT Cool Hand Luke w/o Paul Newman, and It's A Wonderful Life AINT It's A Wonderful Life w/o James Stewart and Ward Bond. More additions, True Grit AINT True Grit w/o Duke and Kate, The Searchers AINT The Searchers w/o Duke, Bond, Hunter, Carey Jr, and Ford. I also add that, The Day the Earth Stood Still AINT The Day the Earth Stood Still w/o Michael Rennie, Forbidden Planet AINT Forbidden Planet w/o Walter Pidgeon, and finally, War of the Worlds just AINT War of the Worlds w/o Gene Barry. As Spidey used to say: "Nuff Said."
Well said, and I can't agree with you more and am proud to say im the first to give you rep points. Cheers--C. PS, first to you as well. I never have liked madonna and I found to my chagrin when I was in Heidelberg, Germany-that I walked into a Bier Stein shop just outside Heidelberg Castles walls, and what did I hear the German Proprieter playing on the radio? you guessed it-some madonna song. I had an irritated expression and the store owner asked ahy? and I said it was because he was playing madonna of all people on his radio-instead of real German music. The store owner said he thought that Amis would want to hear Ami music and I said nope-and was backed-up by two G.Is who walked into the shop right after me and hearing our conversation. Needless to say, the store owner was nice enough to change the dial to a German station-and all sin was forgiven. ;-))
Oh, Carl, this is scary. Still another post that I agree with. If this keeps up, you and I will be singing "Kumbaya" together.
Believe me, you aint alone and-don't get me started on the colorizations of classic black and white movies ;-))
Hi Lou, what's even scarier is that lately i've been completely agreeing with Stefan on a few postings   "Oh My Lord, Kumbaya...." Next we'll be singing "Gimme that old time religion." :-D
Did she leave her English accent with y'all? As long as she stays in Hollyweird the rest of the country should be ok.
