Well, I must admit, I used a vacuform set of canopies. Although designed for the Airfix kit, they still did not fit exactly - lots & lots of filing was needed! The front window is actually a mm or 2 imbedded in the frame, as that was the only way it would fit.

Also, yes, the fuselage really is not a good fit, and requires a LOT of filling & sanding. The underside is still a bit ropey, and there is no rivet detail where the parts meet!

Oh, and thanks for your praise

You may notice that the brown on the glasswork is a differant shade to the rest (less reddish). This was because my brown paint went all gummy in between painting the glasswork and painting the rest. The new tin of paint (same brand...) was a very different colour. I couldn't face going over the cockpit framing by hand again...

Also on the cockpit - I went overboard on the white glue as the fit was rather bad, and therefore the area around the cockpit has a definate ridge if you look closely - mercifully not visible on the photos!

Edit - sorry, I have an amazing ability to see only the bad points of my work...

An ability ( disability ) you share with most modellers I´d say. One of the most difficult aspects to modelling is to know when to stop.

I´m probably colour-blind, but I sure can´t see any different shades of colour.

Ok, so it might not be as bad as I make out...

Take a look at the overhead view (Blenhiem a) - compare the block of brown on the nose section (just in front of the pilot's windscreen) to the brown on the wings/fuselage.
The wings/fuselage are definately a shade redder.

Anyway, I will stop slagging off my own model now.

    Isn't it wonderful!!
    ;)

    That's just awesome! Wonderful model!

Please tell me this is 1/35 scale, and not 1/72. That would make me look like a fool alright :S
How do you guys do that nice smooth colour anyway? is that airbrushing or something?

Yes is 1/35 with airbrush, oil colors, vallejo paints, photo etchings from aber, eduard tracks from friul, that is the planned

we don´t have a problem with the space because a friend let us show the models at his display ( 7 mts x 2.0 mts ) so then the scale can be 1/35 without problem of space.

other model in initial phase is this ( this is mine )

Welcome to the modelling section! :D

The easiest planes are the 1950s jets - like the F-86 Sabre or the MiG15 or the Folland Gnat.

I look forward to seeing the pictures!
Could you show some pictures of your car models please?
