Another recent find was this original photo of the Deutschland regiment, marching through Kurzburg. It will be interesting to find out about the location/ castle etc. Any help with the location will be most appreciated. best regards John
Hello John . Your second man is most probably wearing the Finnish national colours. (Blue on white cross)
I am almost postive , although a Dane could be possible too but even on a black and white picture, the blue and white seem obvious to me
Yes I agree with you. The only two flags I can think of are Finland and the Red Cross. lol So I believe you are right about it being Finnish.
John the last port. of the two guys is pretty stunning the clarity of that pic is wonderful. note the earlier inverted V piping on the soldier field cap in the second pic and early war indicator
John can you post the backs of some of these pics with the handwriting ? John that first one is special with the intertwined black/white tresse and the old but rather large D of Deutschland later changed out to a much less conspicous D on the shoulder boards. good for you !
More great shots Mate. I am having tons of trouble with my computer and I can't get the pics to expand to try to help out with any possible info. Great scores none the less.
Thanks lads! Kinda hard to be on the internet so much just now. My fathers been extremely ill. Just doesnt seem to be turning the corner. Anyway, thanks for the salute too. I will post the reverse side of the pics, and post the others I picked up at the same time shortly. regards John
