My apologies and well spotted skipper. I meant Finish, not Danish.
My geography was never that good! I seem to remember could do better on my old school report card with that subject.:i_surrender:
This is the final portrait photo that I purchased on the same day, from the same person. I think you will like this one.
    regards John

your wish is my command: actually it's not Kurzburg, but Würzburg, Bavaria and the castle is the St Buckard Festung at Marienberg.

Hi John, sorry I couldn't answre your question but thankfully, Skipper did ;-)) My Geo of Germany aint too boo coo either ;-))

I have I'd'd two of four Castles in the four pics I have of them in wartime. One is Heidelberg Castle-Heidelberg) another is the Castle at Werfen in Austiria (where they filmed Where Eagles Dare at) but the other two I have I have not much of a clus except that one might be in Poland as it's an early war-Wintery photo-and the final one-I have no idea where that one is located or what its called?

WOW I am impressed! Thats absolutely beautiful. Thanks Skipper. Carl I went to Heidelberg castle this year for the first time. The architecture is something else in red sandstone. There wasquite a bit of masonry work going on when we went there. Scaffolding everywhere. Quite a few small museums within the castle, Chemistry type medicine and the biggest two wine barrels in the world.

I can't make out all of the words on these either but here is what I can make:

Pic Nr 1) looks like it says that they are ina place called: Rudolfzell?

Pic nr. 2) Unkn, Unkn, June 1940 at Kaserne ???chen.

That's the best I can do with someones version of a Doctors handwriting ;-))
