Well Said Skipper, my sentiments eaxactly. I wanted at least a reasonable look-alike MP-40 so i can continue my Arty Majs display that will most likely not be complete for about 2 more years-unless i win a lottery-which aint likely happening anytime soon.
Soitnely ;-)) I just got a nice email from Paul in Eng-who also hasa blank-firing MP-40. Now I know why they seem to be so hard to find-its because all of you UK Gents are buying all of them
Very nice example, Ray. I almost bought one of these at the MIlitaria 2009 show, last February. I dithered on the sale and went off for a think about it. I later decided to buy it, but when I returned to the stall it was in the process of being sold!
the old indecision john,it does grind on you, when you know you want it,but go away trying to justify buying? been there! along comes the bloke who knows its worth the money.and boom gone..ray..
Oh boy - haven't we all done that ! I learned years ago that you really do have to strike while the iron is hot....
You have both 'hit the nail on the head'. I should have jumped in and bought the thing straight away, but, you learn by your mistakes and I won't let the next one I come across slip through my fingers.
That's happened to me all too many times-and doesn't it make you feel like you have a bad case of a Stomach Ulcer? It does me. That's why when I see somehting, I usually snag it on the spot-which is why it took me 10 years to get a computer-even a used one-as well as it keeps me in the poor catagory :-( BUT, I DID get soem great stuff in the process over the years, so sometimes its really worth being kept poor.
Too true, Carl. I felt sick when I went back to the stall and the blank MP40 was being sold before my very eyes Maybe he did and thats why he had collected them up...or maybe he just wanted a little extra firepower.
This is one of those 'I wish I could go back in time' photos. The helmets alone would be suffice for me.
