An EKW C-36? A Swiss multi-purpose combat aircraft of the 1930s and 40s? It's got the single-engined monoplane and two crew. It's hard to see, it could be the derivative F+W C-3605, nicknamed Schlepp, operated by the Swiss Air Force from 1971–1987, but it doesn't have the Flying Zebra Crossing painting of the target tug.
That'll do me. Took pic in the museum in Luzern in 2009. Recommended place to visit , even my daughter liked it.
Took a little longer than I thought... You see, just that morning, PzJgr had started a thread about the P-51D "Geraldine" being for sale. Just for giggles, I went looking through the parent website "Platinum Fighter Sales" to see what else they had to offer. Lo and behold they had this up for sale: 1944 EKW C-3603 s/n 327 D-FRBI http://www.platinumfighters.com/#!c-36/c1w75 IIRC, Owen's plane is s/n 317.
Agree...the "barrel" fighter was designed by the Swedes...but was a close design of what the Germans planned...
The photo greenslime posted is of a wreck in the Congo. http://larsgyllenhaal.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/nordic-soldiers-in-congo.html Bit more about SAABs in the Congo here. http://www.saabgroup.com/en/About-Saab/Saab-History/Stories-of-Innovation/3231/
CNN wouldn't do well in this thread. Robin Meade just ran a story about the Blue Angels flying again after a year off and ran a clip of the Thunderbirds in their F-16s
Just when you think you had seen em all... No cheating now. If you open the image in a new window, the url will tell you what it is, and thus what it was for...
Nope. Cornwall. Yep on it being a Beaufort, but you "failed" by not saying Beaufort Mark 1. (Plus YOU are supposed to put in the next entry...) - Lost in 1940. http://lostaircraft.com/database.php?mode=viewentry&e=30005 The hood allowed engine work in bad weather. ____________________ Nest: No cheating by looking at the image url. K? - the colors and Roundel should be of some help...
