That japanese tank, it would not happened to be a Chi-I tank prototype would it? I vaguely recall it being overweight and made of soft iron but the important part to the japanese imperial army was that it moved of its own power.
The source I have simply calls it N.1, it's a 1927 prototipe made of mild steel that was considered successful despite being overweight at 18t and so unable to reach the hoped for 25 km/h speed. This was not considered a big failure as the other vehicles in use at the time (Renault FT and Wickers medium A) had top speeds of 8 and 14 Km/h.
