    Little clue - designed and prototyped during, but didn't see service during the war, however was used fairly extensively in action later. :)

    Really want to say it's British/Commonwealth, but can not find anything to support it.

    British/Commonwealth by design and manufacture, although most of it's service (if not all) wasn't. :)

    Perhaps an early version or prototype of the South African Eland?

    Very very similar, but unfortunately no SA connection and no real link to the Eland. :) It's named after a place :)

    Used by the French in the 1950's.

    It is armoured :) ok little clue - it didn't get accepted for service, but the chassis it was built on did in large numbers as another vehicle.
