i thought it might be british, looks like the chassis off a daimler or humber edit: ahhh no, is it a prototype for the morris c8/ FWD?
You're surprisingly close - it is the same chassis as the c8/quad, but not a prototype, more a side branch that didn't go anywhere. as another clue it was made by the company that originally made the quad.
Still no-one? Ok what if I were to say that it was designated as a 'Carrier', to be used in a similar way to the Universal Carrier.
sorry Tom, not really close - (I've already kind of given the answer if you just jiggle the words around a bit
alright i'll give it to you - it's the Carrier, Wheeled, Guy (or Guy wheeled carrier) - feel free to post one if you have one though - you got the closest (Humber took over production of the chassis from Guy for the armoured car and Quad tractor) edit; the India pattern (higher sides) of the same vehicle saw widespread use
Thanks, I would have narrowed it down specifically at least by Christmas......... I googled some combinations with "guy" and "carrier", but some of the answers were not family fare...... I'll come up with one shortly. tom
try looking for WRAF uniform pictures (I needed to, for some research earlier) - even with safe search on it's a minefield
Next time take more than 30 seconds, it would make me feel a little better. Another one posted here in another forum: http://beute.narod.ru/Beutepanzer/su/su-76i/su-76i_01.jpg tom
Morning the 'prototype' part is right. the final production version went on and saw some service in the early part of the war
