Yes, I see now. They do look similar at a glance, but when you start looking at the road wheels, they are different. Thanks
I had always thought the nickname "Bison" belonged to the later Sturmpanzer II and the ones on Pz 38 chassis but I'm wrong, the 38 was nicknamed Grille. As I'm out of candidates I won't mention Ms. Berta's family name. In my overburdened mind there is a a lot of confusion aboul mild steel, armour, 75mm and 105mm guns, gun layout and maufacturers for a grand total of just 5 built. Add to it that I sometimes confuse the Neubaufahrzeug (sp?) with the Grosstraktor ...
The tank pictured is the Neubaufahrzeug with the Rheinmetall Turret C/W frame aerial. The Neubaufahrzeug panzer was the first heavy tank ( at that time called a heavy tank) to be built under Hitlers government. It had a 7.5cm main gun with a 3.7cm antitank gun next to it, either above or by the side, depending on who made the turret ( Rheinmetall-Borsig/Krupp) There were also two smaller turrets at the front and back, each had a MG 13. Two of the five built were of the soft metal versions (ie prototypes ) these two were used to train tank crews at Putlos until 1940. The other 3 were sent to Norway in 1940 were one was destroyed near Lillehammer, the other two were sent back to Germany were the order for production was cancelled
In a little village close to me, they built those wood carburators again Whats this? View attachment 12131
Darren this one was built by an Western Allied after they had some white bread and a glass of redwine
The only tank that I can find that roughly reasembles it is the Char 2C, but thats a total shot in the dark Ulrich
Firs attempt at uploading after SW upgrade and it's %$&%&$£$ Not sure we haven't had this one before ..... View attachment 19973 EDIT Yes we did!!!! looking for another one, back soon ....... Here it is forget about the argentinian crusader mod ....... View attachment 19974
The armoured car pictured reminds me of the AB 43-2 but the comand version and with wheels removed to allow it to travel on railway lines ( most German armoured cars were designed to do this). The picture was taken in Russia Autumn 1943.
Not an autoblinda (if that's what you mean by AB) but an automitrailleuse ........... Russian Front is correct but my picture was captioned early 1942 which makes more sense considering what the vehicle is.
