    Tricky though.
Often bald specs make you hesitate, but on taking the plunge everything's fine.
On the whole - Nvidia, GTX & a decent bit of GPU giggage - away you go. ;)

I played with an Arma 2 group for four years. It was started by retired military veterans, and the players were both vets and civilians. I learned a hell of a lot from those guys, and heard more than a few good war stories. We learned and implemented squad-level tactics used in real life, and operated in anywhere from a platoon to a company, with a dedicated air unit. We played everywhere from "Takistan" (think Afghanistan) to Fallujah to Vietnam, and we played with other milsim units on occasion. We had regular mission creators that used Arma 2's mission editor to create all kinds of missions, some realistic, some not. We trained for these missions once a week and received lots of great information from guys who did it for real in Iraq and Afghanistan. We had ranks. Not once were those ranks used outside of game or to pull any sort of power trip on someone, and there weren't any salutes (yes, you can salute in Arma 2) But we had a great time. After Arma 3 released (looks gorgeous), we all voted to move to Arma 3. That was a mistake. The commitment from Bohemia Interactive just wasn't there, they're still releasing what should be base-game features as DLC, ignoring longstanding issues, and the modding community is nothing compared to Arma 2. So that kinda dried up for us, and now, the old-timers just get together every once in awhile for War Thunder, etc.

Definitely look into Arma 2. Watch some videos on YouTube, and look for a guy name Dsylexc there, and watch some of his old Arma 2 videos.

These nuts I know spend weeks planning ops on their forum before each ARMA iii jobby. Maps, tactical decisions etc.
I do take the piss, but have to concede, grudgingly, that it also looks like a laugh.

That's how we did it. I eventually got sick of it, but for a long time, it was a lot of fun. And with the different mods, maps, and units, people were really creative in the editor, and it kept things fresh. We used a plugin through Teamspeak to simulate radio communication networks, and the in-game radios had full-functionality and their use was modeled after real-life, as in, you had to more or less have line of sight, for example. The squelch sound was beautiful. I don't play Arma anymore, but I spent more time in my life playing that game, by far, than any other game I've played, and I know some of the guys I played with in real life now.
