Hi, I am a new member,my name is Peter and i am 65 years old.,as such i was in the first generation born after the war.I live in Suffolk,England and am surrounded by reminders of that time in the form of old airbases.I do not come from a military family, although subsequently one of my nearest relatives died in Afghanistan. When growing up i had no great connection to the war other than thinking "well of course we won because we were the good guys and they always win"..In later years i have come to realise just what a close run thing it was at times. What really impresses me is the way thousands of people in thousands of different situations went out and sacrificed themselves "knowing" they were up against superior technology.I question whether i would do the same in those circumstances.I am interested in all aspects of the war and will post my first question in the relevant section, Peter
