There were many sides to Andy Griffith. He could make us laugh and sometimes.............

And sometimes he would make us think. R.I.P.

I know I relate everything back to my father, which isn't a bad thing, I've been blessed with a wonderful dad and I've always adored him, but Andy Griffith and The Andy Griffith show and my father are forever entwined in my mind. My father loved the show and I remember watching it with him as far back as I can remember and on into my adulthood.

Just the night before Griffith died, my dad and I were quoting Andy Griffith lines, one of our favorites was Barney "reciting" the Preamble to the US Constitution. Like Frank Capra's movies, maybe Mayberry wasn't exactly like real-life, but it was how we wanted it to be.

Andy Griffith wasn't a perfect man, but he was a good man. And I am grateful to him for so many happy memories and laughs.

Actually, there's one more other than Robert Clary, but he wasn't an original role. It was Sgt. Baker, who replaced Kinch in the later seasons. He was played by Kenneth Washington, who's still alive today.

It's funny, I never felt there was anything I wanted to do that I couldn't do. It never crossed my mind. A testament to the women who were held back and fought back. Women like Dr. Sally Ride.

she was 95, and to be honest I had sort of wondered what had happened to her. I both liked and didn't like her humor, some was hilarious, some was a bit of a stretch to be funny.

    Rest in Peace Phyllis.

Remember visiting Universal Studios in '76. ..A part of the tour was a bit on Phylis...They showed how makeup transformed her. She had a funny dialog throughout, basically admitting she was a hard case... But, in 1976, she was 36 yrs younger. And she felt the need for surgery/heavy makeup. ..Loved Phylis and her self deprecating form of humour....Joan Rivers should be as good. ..

I see that William Windom has also passed away, but at 88 years. Heart problems in his case it appears.

Diller was not a favorite of mine when she started out. But she "grew on me" over the years. I think her tour with Bob Hope in Nam made me an admirer. RIP Phyllis!
