The prop job? Otherwise I'll SWAG and say one of them didn't reach production.

Then I probably wouldn't have a clue unless it's over Hanoi in the movie.

The Felon is really a F-5 TigerII fighter. Excellent aircraft that has never seen combat. Used at Top Gun as enemy aircraft.

The MiG-3 was real, although not very successful, one of new generation of inline-engined monoplanes just entering service at the time of Barbarossa. Of its stablemates, the LaGG-3 was also not that great, but it begat the La-5, -7, -9, and -11 (postwar).

The Yak-1 led to the Yak-7, -9, and -3 which were widely used and produced. The Yak-3 was one of the best dogfighters of the war.

The MiG bureau was tasked with developing jet fighters and produced the Soviet Union's first, the MiG-9.

WW2 and regular posting aside, I talked to a voice from 49 ! Years ago. Time is but an illusion and I'm truly 17 again today.

Check which thread I'm on... .......... Yep, okay then...

Recently found out my oldest grandson just received an Acceptance letter to Bradley University. To top that off they also included a four year Scholarship. So now the conundrum is : What do we get him for high school graduation ? I'm thinking a Breitling chronograph.
Uh wait maybe a Sam's Club knockoff. Those damn things are expensive ! Most likely a visit to Red Lobster.
    Pride doesn't begin to express.

Get him a fake ID so he can party off campus. Mine was endlessly useful at Purdue. (Well, I was 31 when I enrolled.)

One of the things that blows my mind is he’s level headed and has common sense. Unlike his grandpa.

    Good for him!

He must have got those brains from somewhere o_O

I'd suggest a present with sentimental value. My Grandad gave me an Arab knife he picked up while serving in the Middle East. Not suggesting something that grand, but you get the idea

I've been thinking , okay and maybe drinking and enjoying Life, but Ricky has given me an idea. Let me just say five Generations are involved and it will take me a few months to complete. Hopefully the G-Son will appreciate.
