"The guy with the 300 guns" is a Kluxer, an Oathkeeper, and one of the loon that showed up at Ferguson, MO, armed to the teeth. If none of those qualifers worry you, then I worry about you.

It's good that you admit you'd risk going to prison to keep your toys. Disregarding the law system established by the Constitution means that the Second Amendment is only important insofar as it allows you to keep the aforementioned toys. And that if the Constitution was legally and correctly changed you'd ignore it like it wasn't even there. That's hypocrisy, my dear jarhead.

Besides being majorly tinfoil conspiracy theorist we missed the total flop of a plan similar to yours in Oregon recently. Idiotic idea that militias are in any wise effective is clinically a sign of brain damage IMNSHO.

If you actually read what I said, I did not say I would refuse if the Constitution were ammended, only if the government attempted to circumvent the Constitution, legislatively or bureaucratically.
The first step would be the Federal government forcing it's will upon certain individual states in violation of the 10th ammendment. It wasn't too long ago that a number of states passed resolutions declaring they would not allow new Federal gun restrictions to be enforced in their states.
If the Federal government went after freedom of speech, freedom of the press, allowing for warrantless searches and seizures or freedom of religion would you be so quick to say it's reasonable?
An unconstitutional law need not be obeyed any more than an unlawful order. You just need to be willing to accept the consequences of your refusal. I am.

I doubt you'd give up your guns under any circumstances.

Actually, you'd be wrong. I really don't have that many and most of them I purchased for their historical significance. If the Constitution was ammended and ratified by the states, I'd accept it as the law of the land and my duty as per my oath.

Really? You are over generalizing. I have a carry permit, but can't tell you the last time I have actually gone armed. I wish I'd had my pistol in the car the day they had the Jihadi shoot the Marines the street. It would have been nice to have had the means to put him down if he had crossed the road. I don't feel the need in my everyday life for the protection a firearm affords. I have them down in the gun safe locked away for when I choose to go shooting recreationally, which isn't nearly as often as I used to.
-I'm not a Kluxer, though being from the south I've known a few, and they tend to be losers that want a scapegoat to blame for their shortcomings. People of different colors and religions are easy targets. BTW, I noticed more overt racism when I lived up north than I've ever encountered down here.
-When you say militia, I think of the Airfarce E-3, missle tech that somehow thinks his military training qualified him to be a Colonel (actual case) and attracted fat guys that wouldn't or couldn't serve in the actual military but want to wear uniforms and equipment on the weekend, and carry guns. Their harmless, and pretty pathetic. Some of the militias made up of farmers and cattlemen out west appear to be the real deal, but I have no first hand knowledge. They appear to be doers and not wanna-be's. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with most of those groups.
-I think Alex Jones is a nut, just about on par with the Ancient Aliens guy.

If they hurt someone, throw them under the jail. If they're not hurting anyone I don't see abridging their rights just because I don't like what they're saying, their beliefs or because I think they're idiots. We do have freedom of speech and thought, not just for those we agree with, that's easy, it's just harder to stand up for those you think are wrong, but you gotta do it. It's like jury duty, most people try to get out of it. Every time I have been called I've gladly served. I tried my best to be attentive, impartial and render a verdict based upon the instructions we were given, because that's a right conferred by our Constitution and what I'd want if I was ever on trial.

Prove they aren't. Have they hurt anyone? Should we throw all women in jail because they have the equipment and capability of being prostitutes? No, that's ridiculous. Possibility does not equal probability.

Prostitutes don't shoot people, so save the false equivalencies.

And people prove they're not safe with guns every damn day.

Actually if there is any new restrictions on gun ownership it would ultimately be Judicial since anything coming from the Executive/Legislative branches would rapidly go to the courts, either as a injunction or test case.

I'll point out again that the state of New York thinks only 5% of those owning rifles required to be registered under their law have registered them. 5%. I doubt all those people are secret Klansman, and the silly attempt to paint all gun owners as KKK or the like just shows how hysterical and emotionally unstable the anti-gun movement is.

I am a bit of a gun nut, though i prefer cowboy guns and black powder...but i have a few auto-loaders as well.
We have quite a few gun laws now don't we.?
I guess it CAN Vary state by state.?
I constantly Hear/Read about gun law loop-holes...especially at gun shows.
Again...maybe state by state. The only gun i can buy at a gun show in California, and not have to wait 10 days, is a fire arm that is 100 year old or older, but maybe even that loop-hole is gone.?
When these shooting happen, i always hear about a bunch of Hellacious gun law loop-holes. I am not sue how accurate those statements are...maybe 100%, i do not know.
I have no problem with background checks for guns, it makes sense to me...but outlawing guns, at This Point seems idiotic.
All it will do is put more poor people and "people of color" in prison...Just EXACTLY like the drug laws do.
Some people like to praise themselves because they "passed a law".
    OK...you passed a law...now what...you walk away.
Rich people DO and BUY whatever they want.
    Drugs
    13 year old girls
Fast cars that do not pass emissions laws
Avoid paying their fair share of taxes with a smile on their face
    etc etc etc
The people that are not rich.....they become criminals.
It is about time we wised up and realize you do not solve Social/Medical problems by passing a law.
Just suppose...just for a minute, that we had a BAD Heroin Problem. People dying...OD'ing...families being ruined...jobs being lost...what would you do to fix this awful problem.?.....pass a law to make Heroin illegal.?

Depends on the extent of the problem...prohibition does work in reducing consumption, the trade off is regulation...the government cant regulate the price or quality or concentration of the drug...or make tax off it.
So the answer is YES you make heroin illegal to make yourself - very much like tobacco, its more illegal to grow your own tobacco here in Australia than Marijuana...the government creates "heroin clinics" much like they have now...you could either have safe injecting rooms for heroin or methadone (also a good place to help people get off the drug) - Translating this to guns? A government permit to own a weapon (only given to those who have a legitimate requirement) - these weapons are allowed under strict conditions and must be kept in proper gun safes (A national register to know where any gun is at any time.)...you create a mandatory jail sentence for crimes with guns, you stick illegal dealers in jail for life - and you create a social environment where gun carriers are seen as weak...
Oh...and you stop every second TV show and movie using and glorifying guns and killing people with them. Pretty sick TV these days.
You can also have an education system that is free and compulsory, including University degrees, linked to family services that can pick up stragglers at an early age. Failure to come to school will result in Welfare payments being withheld, child welfare agents actually knocking on doors if kids aren't attending (truancy officers) - And above all a REAL attempt at getting kids educated...I know from my own experience low education leads to a low expectation in life and a lack of motivation to improve yourself. Also advertisements that teach parenting...sounds a little too easy doesn't it? TV is the best educational tool yet devised, its time we used it as such.

Tougher gun laws do not stop criminality, they increase criminality : victims of tougher gun laws will be the law abiding citizens who will be powerless against criminals .

More liberal gun laws are needed and more guns : the more guns ,the bigger security .

I would feel more safe if I had a gun, but I can't have it because of the crime lobby in Brussels .

We have had a methadone system in Scotland for many years and other than costing the Government a fortune, it has created a methadone dependent generation, some of whom carry on taking heroin. It is however cheaper than providing rehab clinics but does not solve the problem.
