    Hello CurlySue

I use Newspapers.com & Genealogybank, and a few others to search newspapers. I search using date ranges from 1942 - 1948 or later if I am searching obituaries. Some bodies were returned to USA for burial 1945 - 1948 and so I look past the actual date of death range. I also search various forms of the division or battalion name or location. You can search during that time frame for the location such as "New Guinea". It takes a lot of time to go through so many articles so I sort by oldest to newest.
When I find something specific, I try to add it to find a grave or Family search. My ancestry account is limited right now since I haven't renewed it.

You can search "Tropic Lightning" , 90th Field Artillery, "90th F.A." "25th Infantry", "25 Inf".

    Thanx again
All of these that you post give more clues - as to time- place and importance for this fighting force- - I find all my searches and their results fascinating . I will soon look into the Famous Rangers that Uncle J.T. Chesnut served with - - I very much so em interested in any Units my Uncles J.T. and Charles Chesnut were fighting or involved with , but right now Army and Guadalcanal-The Philippines and Luzon peak my attention . Also (anything) involving the 25th -90th-11th I’m not saying I’ve developed tunnel vision as it pertains to this War - - it’s just a fact - ha ha The fact that once I feel
I have enough info to request my Father’s OMPF ….and other Files I’ll get that done - then branch out without fearing I’m missing something . I appreciate everyone and everything I have learned here in this forum- - first thing is like OpanaPointer says MilSpeak is a little tough - - once I could follow and understand that better I wasn’t as limited .
All of you here-Everyone-Tipnring-OpanaPointer-Biak-T090 … I know I’ve forgotten to mention many-(my apologies)
But anyone doing WWII Research can learn so much here .Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to all of you and yours
God Bless …Your Ancestors who fought in this and-or- Any War Bless you

    Hey
Hi , I have a question - - at my Father’s funeral there were these guys there from- - I think Army- - not sure really, I didn’t really notice them until they shot their Rifles as in a 21 gun Salute . So what is the whole affair when they attend a service with the Rifles?? I was so rapped up in my loss and grief that I couldn’t pay attention that day . Can anyone answer this one for me ? Also would my Mother- - would she have to request this gun involvement ? Thank you

Hi , I’ve got a Subscription to Newspapers . Com I can find info on everyone I serch for except my Father - really frustrating- but I’ll keep searching . I was wondering tho if you might know- — When an article says-
———Delayed——— then contenues when it’s an article that mentions Army positions or actions they Delay it to not reveal current information . Do you know how many days the article would be delayed ?? Thank you
