I managed to squeeze my arm between the buckled armour and took a few photos of the interior-when I visited the Tiger last year.

    Hi John,

Yes I have seen that thread, thanks.
I liked the interior photo with the 88mm gun because it is something
you can recognize between the rusty metal......

That must have been little guys in length and in weight,
With 5 soldiers in such a little space and the knowledge you could
get hit every moment must have been a scary enviroment to "work" in.
And imagine an explosion and a fire..........

    Edward

    Grueber!

Read carefully what Martin B writes. He allways knows what he is talking about, so I think that he has already done it!!

Martin, No this tiger is completely inert and ready to take home with me.
I am searching for a deeploader and a crane.
I think it will fit in my backyard with the barrel
    hangin over at the neighbours....:D

And then you are all invited to come and take a real look inside and take place in the driverseat!

I agree. The inside is looking pretty eat up with rust.

This argument is a real battle of head and heart....I've had this discussion with a friend on another forum and we've had to agree to differ.:(

Yes, of course, 'head' says that this valuable relic - which it certainly is - should be placed in some kind of building to prevent further deterioration.

But here comes 'heart' - every time I drive up the hill outside Vimoutiers and that Tiger comes into view, it's a real thrill. The machine just sits there, surrounded by the Normandy countryside, and suddenly it all seems real - you're really in Normandy, and there's a real Tiger which still looks threatening. It's one of the great experiences of any Normandy field trip and I'd be heartbroken if one day it weren't there....

I know it's illogical, but there you are.....

And crews claimed that the tank was one of the most comfortable and roomier you could get :)

    Cheers...

I agree with Martin, it should stay outside for that real thing feeling.

I think there are these days good conservation techniques to stop the rust from the inside and prepare it for another 64 years.

I don't know what the Tiger is worth for a city as Vimoutiers. It is always a matter of dirty money........

Well, to be perfectly honest, there aren't too many other reasons to visit Vimoutiers ( with all due respect to that doubtless fine town ! ;) )

Please also forget that cheese! Have you ever tried it? It smells horrible! :(
And I know because I am from Holland, the country of the "cheeseheads" and here we make cheese that does not smell so bad.......

    And for the football.........;)
