I never see Churchills with big ol' honking guns in the relatively smallish turret, but the hull was rather large.

What as the diameter of the turret ring?

"Polish Army received three Soviet SU-152s. Two were given to the Officers Tank School and one to the 3rd Training Tank Regiment. All three Polish SUs were used as trainers in years 1945-`49. One SU-152 is on exhibition on cemetery of Soviet soldiers at Cybinka in Poland."

30 to 40 arrived in 1947 as part of the help for Latin American armies, from war surplus in the USA. They still served until the mid the 70's, mainly as school vehicles in the "Escuela de Mecanizacion" (Mechanized School) in Bogota, and various other Mechanized Cavalry Groups throughout the country.

There were some Mk VIIs Churchills sent to Jordan in the fifties and the Irish Army had it's Mk Xs in service at least until 1967, so maybe someone liked the things after all .....

Wow! That's pretty cool how modern a Sherman could look.

The tank in the photograph has an interesting history. The name of the tank is "Ina". Captured by the Paraguayans in their war with Bolivia, she was made a war trophy. Many years later the tank was retured to Bolivia as an overture of peace and friendship. What became of the tank after it's return is unknown.
