I agree to some extent to what you are saying, there is at least one coouple with 8 kids, neither parent works but they recieve about 37000 GBP a year in benefits, this is obviously wrong but if the money s taken away then the kids suffer, is that right. It is not the fault of the children, one answer is to reduse the benefit, thwen this will have a knock on effect on other people on benefit.

Also is it right that because someone is stupid and can't get a job or hold one that they should be penalised, on the other hand a clever person can pretend to be stupid to get benefits, so who is to say that a person is stupid or clever.

Our Governments have mechanisms to decide this and like all sometimes it is flawed.

Everything depends on the type of government you want ot live under and what problems you want to accept.

    IMHO

AS for taxes, yes I would love to say where they go and where not but it is not that simple.

If Teflon Tony is voted back in my taxes will go to the very poor, ethnic minorities and the very rich. If he isn't my taxes will go to the very poor, ethnic minorities and the very rich. The only difference is whole will be most truthful.

On your side of the pond is w**ker Bush gets in your taxes will go to the very rich and if he doesn't it will go to the very poor and Ethnic groups.

That is the way I see it.

Well, it's almost nice to see that you guys have it just about as bad as we do! At least there's still something in common between us, even if it's only misery!

I guess it comes down to which candidate is going to do the least amount of damage overall.

I think you overestimate the IQ as an indication of possible achievement. IQ, however, is only a small part of the cerebral functions and their quality. It is merely the power to link things in your mind, that's all. I'm glad you would reckon my IQ to be over average, but only from 180 or so would one qualify as a genius. What I have in IQ I lack in experience and knowledge, so that levels it out a lot. I am well aware that an IQ does not determine someone's value as a human being, so sorry if I made it sound that way. What I mean is that most people are of an intelligence that is below average, and that they are more likely to do damage than good with a gun; that's why I wouldn't want them to have a gun. So long as they can't harm you, I have no problem with them at all. But if they can, I fear their numbers.

By the way, I really don't like to boast about myself and I certainly wouldn't overestimate myself very quickly, having very little self-esteem. The IQ is one thing I know pretty sure. :D

Which nowadays is whichever one looks best on TV, and as much as they think they can get away with.
In the 'developed' world, at least.

That might be cynical, Ricky, but it seems to be all too true nowadays.
