First Forum I've turned the system on.

I reckon it's friendly and intelligent enough around here for it to operate as what it should be; a kind of simplified message system, mostly to say "nice one" or "thank you" without distracting from the thrust of a thread.
I'm sure if anyone get's a negative hit it'll be deserved for disturbing the 'wa' of the forum. Pleasant behaviour will surely restore that lost 'rep'.

If it's not wanted, we can turn it off.
If anyone takes it too seriously, they probably shouldn't be here in the first place?

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Well, I have a couple of negative notes and I'm still here, amn't I? In the whole I guess I have enough positives to overcome the negatives, if it was the other way around I suppose there would be something rotten in the state of the Rodina, hardly in the forum at large, wouldn't it?

Changing subject, Otto Magnus, in my Command Post it says I have 0 referrals, whereas yourself have 9. What are referrals?

I couldn't have said it better myself vP.

Za, referrals are how many people you have told about this Forum that registered. The new member registration form has an area where you fill in the name of the member that told you about the WWII Forums, if any. Basically I've had 9 people join that wrote in my name for a referral. A couple of them I didn't even know when they signed up, I guess they did it as a courtesy to me upon joining. There are some benefits to referral in the repuation area, and there will be some other benefits later on too.

Anonymous positive pips are quite strange, I find myself thinking "who was that exceptionally perceptive & intelligent person? I really would like to read more of their posts." :D

Other vbulletin forums seem to tell you who left positives automatically, could there be some sort of plugin for it?
('course, I reckon negs should remain anonymous... avoids punch-ups. ;))

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Adam, If you ever get a negative reading "IIIIIIIIII farrrt in your general direction" you'll know where it came from.

    Heres a question,

A member decides to leave a negative feedback, but instead of doing it anonymously, he decides to put another members name instead of his.

Anyway of preventing such an act?

Damn. This right here might get me to turn the rep system from anonymous to not anonymous. I'll look into it.

its a pretty petty person that would actually do such a thing. But I dont see why the rep system would be anonymous to begin with

    All righty then!

The repuation system has been changed.
    • Reputation comments are no longer anonymous.
    • Members can no longer leave negative reputation.
    • OKF members still can leave both + or - reputation.
This should alleviate much of the issues we've had with the reputation system. Never let it be said I don't listen to you Rogues!

To keep things civil, all previous negative reputation comments have been deleted, those anonymous negative comments will stay that way. ;) :otto:

If comments are no longer anonymous, why remove the possibility of negatives? If say Stefan finds something I said is complete jackass quality, why keep him from slamming me?

Now i can finally see who left me comments! woot! No more mystery posters.

Just to throw in my two cents worth, i think that since you can see who is leaving comments, i think everyone should be able to leave negative points. As long as they explain why they're doing so, to prevent idiot people from simply calling some one a 'jap lover' etc.

Yes I agree..... If you say something dumb, dont be surprised to received something in return from other members. This might actually help some of the posting, as it might make someone think twice before putting their 2 cents in ;)
