Lancs - and the B-29 which was capable of carrying two externally - one under each inner wing! Although that might have been just after the war...
Landcaster could only carry one 'Grand Slam'....and the bomb bay doors had to be removed so it would fit. Among other modifications.....
They also had to be modified to do so and had a significantly increased take off run IIRC (PMN1 provided a useful link a while back, I'll have a search around and see if I can find it). In the same way you couldn't take a stock Lancaster and stuff a Grandslam in the bomb-bay, you couldn't take a standard 1944 Superfortress (Or standard Washington for that matter) and just stick a couple of Grandslams under the wing-roots...
USAAF B-29, wartime, two grandslams Just scroll down about half a page: http://home.aol.com/nukeinfo2/#B.%20Boe ... erfortress
I say yes. I think Panzerman should set the first game, as his last one was not really 'won' by anybody.
If I am not mistaken he is working out a scenario right now, and it will be a bit unusual compared to the rest. It should be interesting.
Aye, I am working on a WW2esque sci-fi... so I might base my game off of that The next game will be a little break from the last, introducing new variables and factors to make freshen it up!
Yay! And since summer school doesn't start for a couple of weeks (was supposed to start yesterdat but they moved me to 'semester 2' arrgh!) I'm raring to go.
Actually this game was originally started by Danyel Phelps, who got banned. Since then the game has been led by the winner of the previous game, but now that it's become so quiet around here and the last game didn't recieve a final judgment, I guess if someone has an idea they can go ahead and post some requirements and we'll play.
