Scrawl down and your see them in BMP format which is not really forum friendly, best to covert them to Jpegs.

If you have not got Fraps worth getting, as you can save screen shots as Jpegs and capture your own movie to make.

Looks nice I will have to get it.

Its okay I just get tired of the same old same old.

    Yes they are.

Yes it is. I just got the serpentines and cannons and am a little disapointed in their anti-personel abilities. Pavise crossbowmen are still my projectile mainstay, although I did like the initial performace of the hand cannons. I am also looking forward to the arquebussiars and the ritters. Dad gum stupid Mongols have an army the size of mine and in a quarter of the space. But yes generaly I like it.

Thats an understatement! It has probably got the best graphics of any WW2 Strategy game ever made. Each soldier's face is different, they screw their face up when wounded, 75mm shells bounce high into the air after hitting a Panther's front armour, artillery will blow a man to bits, the whole battlfield can be destroyed, infantry get suppressed by machine guns and mortars, and there are a hudge number of units to choose from! You could bombard the enemy with 105s, 25pdrs, Priests or Hummels, send in waves of Shermans or Cromwells, pick off the enemy tanks with 17pdrs or 88s, strafe the Hun with a P47, ambush Shermans with Panzershrecks or Hetzers, or Stealthily take a position with Glider bourne troops and light armour. Panthers are very expensive but powerful, while Shermans and Cromwells not as much, but cheap.
So yeah, it does 'look nice'.

Nice revolver against a tank. Oh and why to they line themselves up like that, they really should sit back a 1000m and waste your whole position.

I agree, but if they made the game 100% realistic, then only the people who know alot about WW2 (like us) will buy it, so they don't make much money out of it. You have to please the masses you know.
But even if they did sit back, they would still get destroyed by my 17pdr (using it's APDS rounds special ability) and my 3 Priests. (Both off-screen)

    I know the feeling. :(

Only a few weeks ago I came across a Task Force and I was in a great attack position unnoticed but no eels, nuts.

I remember once I had taken over France and the holy land (as the English of course) when from nowhere hoards of mongols turned up and whiped out my army. Wound up back in the UK licking my wounds until someone else killed them.

That happend to me on MTW1. I was the Byzantines, I had all of Russia, all of N. Africa and the holy land, All of Eastern Europe (I got stuck in front of Germany and Italy), I beat off all the Crusades sent against me, then the damn Golden Horde came.
    :(
The Byzantine empire reduced to nothing. *sob*

Pick up Medieval Total War 2: Kingdoms ASAP! It adds 4 campaigns to the game, new units etc (no Grand Campaign though) and is lots of fun!

Ok thatnks for the tip Musso, won't get it right now though.

Well it's a lot harder than I was expecting! Got 3 turns to make peace with Venice or i get excommunicated...and they started the war! Having contained the threats from Venice and Milan, I now have a huge Sicilian army coming to meet me.
I hoped I would never had to say this, but...

    Is there a money cheat?

I struggled with the money and fighting as the HRE. I found that if I focused on building infrastructure and and army focus on offense in one area, defense in others that is works out. I am in the middle of my game and I have been at war since the beginning Milan is out, Venice is out, Denmark is out, France is out, Poland has two cities, and I just defeated a huge Hungarian army. It can be done but it takes some work. Hang in there and I dont know if there is a Cheat.

Yeah, you need to generally have more CITIES then CASTLES. In your cities, focus on things that increase trade (Paved Roads, Bazaars, Ports, etc) and try and open Trade Rights with nearby factions too. An increase in population also helps, so don't be building Units everywhere all the time. The money will start rolling in too...and you'll get 2000 per mission completed (generally).

That always really annoyed me, I remember in my first game I was building up ready to start a crusade when the French attacked me, unfortunately I won and chased them to Paris for which the Pope blamed me. Maybe I just have a too modern attitude to this but I figured 'they attacked me, this war is ending at their capital.

There is but I don't know what it is sadly.

I don't use diplomacy too much, it just makes me mad. For example a faction has one city left and I offer peace, and they reject it. I just think they have a death wish. I do try to make alliances though, and it is nice to bribe pesky rebels from time to time, once I had to, they got to a spot on the map where I couldn't get to them with my soldiers and they wouldn't move so I had to bribe them.

Here is my current Empire. One thing that is annoying is that the screen shots export in TGA... why do they have to do that?

You can also notice that the Plague is sweeping through. Doh! My average income per turn is around 40000, you just have to invest in the production base.

Well I quit the HRE campaign and started a new one as the English. Just won a Crusade but the city rebeled, so I got me troops (there was a lot of them) onto some ships, which where all sunk on the next turn. Doh! My money problem is sorted, though I am having a bit of a problem rght now as I needed to get France's pope vote, so I offered them a large regular tribute. Then it turned out I had no need to do this as all the factions voted for my Cardinal anyway. So now I have a Pope from my faction. Preparing to attack the Scots, hoping that the Pope won't hate me too much.

PS-How about making a MTW2 thread all of it's own? So we don't clog up this thread with writing instead of screenshots.
