Hello gentlemen, Land and Freedom is a movie on the Spanish Civil War, by Ken Loach ( 1995 ). The movie tells the story of a young englishman from Liverpool who goes to Spain to fight in the P.O.U.M.-militia (= not an Inernational Brigade ). The movie is historically very accurate and deals not only with the war against the fascists but also gives insight in the power struggle amongst the Republican forces, the communists vs anarchists + P.O.U.M.
