    I guess I got a little lazy and did not specify that the 7th ID arrived in Hawaii in September 1943 without the 78th CA.

    But I think you made the right choice with 7th ID patch. The source I am using (Stanton) specifically cites the 78th CA on Attu Island where the hardest fight in the Aleutians occurred.

    Does anyone have any idea if the 78th CA should be credited with an assault landing (arrow instead of battle star)? I see the long list of support units for Normandy and wonder.

    Thanks again, a while back I sent a request to the National Archives to see if they had any records on the 78th and I got this response

    it cost .75 per page, so I just have to wait till I get some spare cash.
