My small contribution amongst some very big boys indeed.
This is Brenda & her large chest, robed and a little more racy, sadly she's an 'ex-gun' deact, but I'm very fond of her:

I probably got the best compliment a Military vehicle owner can get..it came from a veteran of World War II on Veterans Day 2006 here in my hometown of Savannah, Georgia....

"Don't touch it, it looks just the way they looked in the field...

A guy can't help but be proud.. LOL..

    Regards,

When I get a couple of days at home I'll take some pics of my BREN, it was owned by the secretary of the Normandy Veterans Assciation over here.

Slava, there are at least a couple more rarities over here.

    Hi Marne

Many thanks for letting us see your cracking photos.... I am 20 years old again and belting along the Cairo to Alexandria road at 100 miles per hour (see below)

"As we were out of the line I was able to get off the wireless for a whole month, but instead found myself roped in as a jeep driver to the C.O., one Major Mouland. This was fun, and I was able to dash about the desert between Alexandria and Cairo at speeds of over a hundred miles per hour with the windscreen down to get the maximum cooling effect."

    Super !

    Ron

Driving in the desert must have been excellent, what about this one? This was a car usually used by the militia, SD etc.. .

unfortunately not my property, it belongs and was restaured by one of my buddies. He drove it to a wedding a few weeks ago. Actually it's a post war model from the early fitfties, but still quite rare and impressive.

Lol, well , I admit I cheated by posting a borrowed beauty, but it's really worth it isn't it? and of course I could not afford this one myself. However I will scan you some of my personnel items next time (much more modest)

WHOA!!! 100 MPH!..LOL... What did you guys have in that thing...LOL...

MAN!...I know the US Driving Manuals say not to drive it over 45 mph in combat conditions..LOL..you guys were REALLY living dangerously...LOL.

I love the anecdote..."to get the maximum cooling effect".. I love that.. LOL..

I glad you like it Ron, I view this little puppy is a lasting remembrance of all the good times and great men of the Greatest Generation that saved the world during World War II.

    Kind Regards,
    MARNE

Marne, great looking Willy's Jeep! I am hoping to buy one from a person who has a huge selection of jeeps. This guy has from what I hear, a few hundred jeeps of all years, for sale (is his main income) and I believe that his business is located near Dallas, TX. One of my Nephews bought one from him, is currently trying to finish restoring it. Right now it looks great and he has a deact .30 cal, mounted on it. Back on Thanksgiving 06, we were riding around the backroads in it when he was pulled over by a Constable. After a few minutes of proving it was a deact, we were cautioned about having it on display.

By the way, he named his jeep :snoopy: because that's his Fiancees favorite cartoon character.

    Hey C,

Thanks! Me and my dad purchased it back in 2000 and have been having "fun" so far with it..LOL.. We're correcting some of its problems that the previous owners had put on it slowly but surely. It looks good in photos but the front floor board needs some work done on it. If I can save it I'm going to do that.

If you want tons of help...go join this forum its all about Jeeps any type of Jeep they will help you with anything concerning them...

I'd have to say the sherriff was being a total butt and must have been having a bad day. I've driven around my hometown here with a .50 Cal. on the way to an event few miles away and ain't been any of them said anything.

You can buy semi-auto M-1919A4 .30 Cal.'s for around $400 at certain places. I'd have to look them up but they come in kits and all you have to do is get the right side plate and drill some holes to put it together completely and acouple of other little parts and your ready to fire. Its the best because you don't have to fork out more money for a Class III license to own a full-auto M-1919A4 .30 Cal. and if you pull the trigger fast enough anyways, it sound almost like full-auto.

When I finish this one up, I'm going to name it "FROG" :D It's the nickname of my Uncle who served in World War II from North Africa in November 1942 all the way to Austria in 1945, he was with the U.S. 832nd Amphibious Group under the U.S. 5th and 7th Armies.

Good luck with finding your MB or GPW!

    Kind regards,
    MARNE

Can somebody explain to me WHY in Britian all these weapons are deactivated!? Still awesome to have such a collection, but just to go out and shoot them is a whole nother experience. The day that a government official came knocking on my door asking for my M1, well i just might break down.

Because in the UK private ownership of live weapons is virtually impossible ( and in the case of handguns and automatic weapons, illegal with a mandatory five-year prison sentence ).

Until 1988, even ownership of deact auto weapons was illegal ( museums had major problems with exhibits, for instance ). One particular enthusiast/dealer campaigned for deacts to be allowed and by a miracle legislation slipped through parliament almost unnoticed. 'They' would now love to make deacts illegal again but there are simply too many in private collections - the Government underestimated the amount of compensation needed when they banned handguns ; they simply can't afford to pay out for countless thousands of deacts.

So over here, we have to be content with small mercies - but I wouldn't really expect to be able to possess a live-firing Bren or PPsH......
