I'm afraid not Erich the man is a collector himself . He even owns eagle marked Luftwaffe furniture, like desks and chairs from Fliegerhorsten.

My latest acquisition: a 1943 billingual (German and French) Heer map with full navigation detail from a large part of Belgium and the tip of northern France. :)
The large town on the west is Ypres.

Wow, Skipper that lamp is awesome! When I see these things I wonder how they survived this long, and what was the trip like!

Yes, the quadrat system is explained both at the bottom of the map and in the midlle. I know you have seen this before, but for those you aren't familiar with the Gemran navigation system here is a key:
You can name a square (FX or FY etc...) + divide it into nine smaller squares:
    For instance FX1 FX2 fX3 etc..
If this is not enough you can divide these nine squares again into four other squares : this gives FXa FXb FXc or FXd. Now were are getting to a scale that reaches under the km distance.
This can again be orientated by adding a cardinal point:
FXa north or FXa south etc.. A very precise way to find what you ar elooking for!

the canteens ar enot to hard to find, I'll look for an extra one, you never know, but the one I have I keep. Actually my wife loves the design. She uses it as a vase on the fire place. It is meant to contain water, so there is no risk of damage. :D

    Skipper,
I love that! Something that was designed for war, being used to hold flowers! That's just great!:)

That's diplomacy, when she won't think about it I'll take the canteen back again. It's like my Luftwaffe lantern being used for a barbecue.:)

Beautiful stuff Skipper, love the map and lamp. The flask with flowers in it looks good too, your wife clearly has impeccable taste.

You are welcome guys, don't worry about painting or whatsoever, I will get my canteen back in the same shape and condition. I wouldn't do this with anything fragile. It was more like a joke and it's just temporary before I take it back.

    Bought some new items lately...
2x 100% complete gasmask containers with gasmask.
    German bandage.
US razor complete in plastic container in a box.
German signalflare ammuntion holder, very nice one. Very rare and expensive item...
Some other bakelite stuff, like small containers for detonators.
German Maskenbrille and Göffel. (spoon and fork in one)
An UK aircraft part with Air Ministry tag, and a Luftwaffe MG15 patronengestosser.
The German canteen is an old purchase, but it haddn't the bakelite canteencup, which it now has.

Nice collection, I see that both gas mask cannisters still have their cleaning cloths and wire retainers inside. These items are usually missing and only one cannister in my collection still has them...:(

The gas mask spectacles don't appear to have lenses in them? Which means they were probably not issued, was there a prescription note for lenses in the case?

I currently 'have my eye' on one of these Luftwaffe lanterns...watch this space for an update on whether I can secure it...;)

Yes there is, only in the left gasmaskcontainer, in the right only the lenses (Klarscheiben) are located.

Thank you all for your replys.
