Great thread and thanks much for showing these pics. Its also nice to see a few guys ho know whatthey are talking about too.

I used to collect RKT pics but stopped a number of years ago because of all the RKTS I was friends with, had passed away. Since then I gave away about half of my collection but still retain the ones more important to me-such as: Erich Topp, Adolf Ferdinand Galland, Karl-Bohm Tettelbach w/ his younger brother and Adi, Reinhard Hardegan, Remy Schrijnen, Otto Kumm, Heinrich Springer and others.

    Thanks again for sharing.

    Erich,
I am amazed at your in depth knowledge of the aces and unit history. I am also a little "envious" of your contact, correspondence and interviews with all of the aces that you had mentioned. I would love to be able to sit with you for a few hours to pick your brain and just discuss the aces and to get a chance to learn some of the history from you.
It seems a lot of the replies on this thread were from very knowledgeable people and I am glad that I have found this site to discuss and to learn more about the War and it soldiers.
    thanks everyone

over 45 years of research data processing/collecting, etc. Lacy.

I have been very honoured and fortunate to have the pleasure of sitting and corresponding with many from both sides of the front. Carl knows well the friendships he made long ago and are still going although sadly we realize that those of closeness have left us far too fast and continue daily.

send me a pm if interested in more from one chap or just keep posting pics, maybe day fighter guys in one thread, Km in another night fighter guys in another thread. you can multiple pic post per posting as well but would say don't do more than 3 as it clutters the post and makes it hard to view.

Amazing collection of photos Lacey. I'm not a collector, but these seem to be quite the group. Thanks for posting them.

    thank you,
funny thing is it all started because I was looking for a signed photo of Hartmann to go with an artists signed drawing I have. Well I came across a very excellent source that had been collecting since the 70's and I started just buying a couple here and there and somehow got "addicted" to it. I made lists of the top Aces of the Luftwaffe and the Kriegsmarine and started going crazy trying to complete the lists. fortunately I have completed most of my lists and I am winding down the collecting and spending for that matter.
thanks for the compliment, it has been nice to finally find people that can appreciate the photos as most of my peers do not understand my fascination with the war, the soldiers and especially the axis or allied heroes that engaged in the conflict

sadly with combination of all the pics into the thread my comments sound and act very bizarre, and no sense at all, but guess it can't be helped.

Herbert Rauh passed away on August 30, 2005.

I chatted with him about his last kills flying the Ju 88G-6 in 45 over the Dortmund area, we are still trying to find which Bomber Command crates he shot down, his flugbuch was confiscated by US troops at time of capture and never returned. wonderful man.

eeeeeeeeeek you have purchased much from ebay I see.

Franz Eisenach of JG 54 fame passed away in 1998. 129 kills with 52 of them Il-2's, he knew how to put down those armored crates
