Skipper -- Very nice additions. The pen holder is very cool, in particular!

    Cheers!

Glad you like it, people go crazy when they see Gemran imperial militaria and will spend fortunes for buttons etc... whereas they won't even check for these. Besides the buttons, it has two Mauser bullets too :p

Actually there must be alot more of us here but would not like to be posting just "thanx" after every pic you´ve sent so I try to use the "salute" as often as possible....do keep on sending those pics if possible!

Cheers Kai I appreciate the gesture. It's not just posting things . In fact most people don't realise I have to spend days, if not more to find the items and then spend an hours to restore the relics. If they are appreciate, I will carry on posting more items. Tonight i received a pair of 75ers in a terrible shape (torn and welded ), but allow me a few days and I will turn these back into their original shape.

Found in an antique shop on my way to Nomrandy yesterday!

It is dated and signed, an absolute beauty and this 75er shines like white gold!

and what about this 1938 German 20mm bullet turned in to a small vase? As a comparison I put a regular bullet next to it.

You really can build quite a beautiful yet affordable collection in western Europe. I with there were not such a large pond between our two continents!

Well affordable if you know where to look and above all if you can recognize things. It's a matter of patience , experience and luck . Forutnately people don't always know what they are selling and buyers will look for the clichés and miss many opportunities. This is my luck. I'm only a beginner , but I always go to flee markets with friend who have dozens of years of experience in the matter and who will recognize militaria among junk immediatley

    Thanks!

Got that right . Here is an enlargment with the 1917 date + the artists initials.

Some very nice 'finds' there, Skipper. I used to collect WW1 trench-art many years ago - you used to be able to find at least one piece in any British antique shop. Now, I can't remember the last time I saw any WW1 stuff on sale......:(

Cheers Martin, it's getting hard here too. It all seems easy when I scan them and post them, but it takes many shops/fairs/markets before I get the right one. Most will sell them for extremely high prices or not at all. The one with the 1917 date I got for ony 10 euros which is a vey good price considered it is signed, dated and in top condition.
