Please look at this document. Here is link to my fathers WWII pay slip.

Front / Back Page Statement of Special Forces Deferred Pay

    Does anyone understand it?

Does it say on page Two that he entered service on Jan 14, 1943 or July 14 1942 ?(enlistment)

Does page One say that he left the service on Feb 25 1946. ?

Does Embarkation mean that's when he left Australia, or from Canada to England where he trained in the Commonwealth Training School?

    I know he ended up as a Warrant Officer. I assume that's a W/O,
    What is a LAC.SGT. ?
    Is F/SGT, Flight Sargent.

Are there any other tidbits that might be of interest from this form?

    Many Thanks.

    W/O is Warrent Officer
    F/Sgt is Flight Sargent
    LAC is Leading Aircraftman

So I'm not sure about LAC Sgt...

    Thank you for your answers.
Does anyone know if the enlistment date on the second page is the date he signed up or actually started in service.
The pay seems to start Jan 14 43. Thats why I ask. Unless there was a Statement before this. It jujst seems that this is his whole service listed. It doesnt seem likly there is a statement before this ??

Also what does deferred pay mean? I mean the term means, "Deferred compensation is when an employer withholds part of an employee’s pay from their paychecks to set aside for use at a later date." So did they give them a little when in service to pay for ... beer, then the rest it appears went into a back account?

I'm not an expert, but as far as I know there was an option for servicemen to have a portion of their pay 'banked' rather than being paid, so they could have a lump sum on being demobbed
