I think yours and Erichs Ideas are good but--ill rather like to have a cup of coffee mixed with some Napolean Brandy.
Carl, you may think what you want about Knight but I think it's unfair to reveal his identity unless he has specifically asked so. Anyway, I agree that some of these political threads might lead to bad things but I think it's the wrong way to go if we ban the political discussions. Perhaps we should all make an effort in trying to change the atmosphere arooun here? Best regards/ Daniel
Daniel : From viewing his profile as others have his name seems to have been placed in a strange e-mail addy. So from this standpoint it would be common knowledge for all particapting forum members. He perferred not to used his real name and according to forum rules this is not a problem. for me I appreciate writing to someone with a first name whether they use it as their sign in or at the end of their posts. My opinion now........it seems to have more of a personal flair to it and I am not writing to some object. Otto should be able to clear things up if a persistant problem is going to exist so we should write him a private. Remember gentlemen we are giving our opinions here as we still are not sure of all the facts ...... E
Look, I banned him because he was a constant problem here on the Forums, NOT because of his political views, as bizzarre as they may be. I resent the insinuation that is made here. I've never come out with a position on the Iraq War, but I do not support someone wishing the deaths of others simply to "teach someone a lesson". His statement is shocking because of whom he wants to suffer, not the object of his hatred, but people who by circumstance are fighting. It's these types of discussions that make me want to close down the FF Zone for good.
Or just establish and enforce a "no current politics"-rule (talking politics in connection to WW2 should be allowed) in the etiquette. I'd be a strong supporter of that, as I get angy on myself if I'm getting angry on others. As Carl erased his post which caused my tough reaction, I edited my to blank, too. Wasn't really an advertising for the patience I'm trying to bring up, anyway. I for myself decided to restrain from any political comment on that war for the time being. Most possible I'll respond to CrazyD's post, bu tbasically I'm pulling back (err: shortening my frontiers ) P.S.: Don't have a number, this might help, though: https://tips.fbi.gov/ Cheers,
I really hoped that no one would have been killed. But sadly enough untill now a lot of peole have died.
Yes I agree. I do not think the coalition expected this type of response from Iraq. Have to admit that they threw a wrench in the plans. It will not change the outcome but sure as hell will be adding fuel to the fire. The longer the war takes, the more countries will line up against the US and GB. Not a pretty picture. As I have said before, the arrogance of the US will be its downfall in world politics.
Boy, I KNEW I should have checked the forums this weekend.... Crazy always misses the fun stuff... Ahhh, the continuing debate over the wonderfully informed and sensible political debates in the FFZ... How could anyone suggest halting these informative and enlightening debates? Agreed.... or WW2, whichever.... Honestly, I'd say get rid of the "current events" debates. For one thing, if it's a major event like 9/11, or Iraq, it seems that major arguments come up no matter what. And generally, even some of the forum members who are known for being more "reasonable" wind up in these "debates". As annoying as they are, people just get sucked in. More to the point though- according to the name of the site, this little corner of the WWW is the " WW2 forums. I'm sure there are plenty of good political forums out there. Maybe if somone finds one they could post a link... But personally, I'd like to see "Today's Active Topics" be full of WW2 info... (Of course, all that being said, an intelligent debate is always interesting. Andy, I'm waiting... )
There, see!!?? That's just typical of the sort of posting I've come to expect from CrazyD.... I resent any implication that I'm unreasonable ! For two pins, I'd buy an air ticket & come over & find his house, smash it up, vandalise his car, boil his pet rabbit.... ( Sorry guys, just an outburst of warped humour ! )
Rabbitlegs...With a touch of horse raddish sauce...Take one pot, slurp a good red wine...turn cooker ring on...slurp some more red wine...catch yer rabbit....may be a good idea to turn cooker off while you do this...take the bottle of wine with you... Got rabbit? Turn cooker back on...open another bottle of red wine..slup some of it... Cover rabbit in red wine...save some for sluping afterwards....Open another bottle, dont matter what colour..dont matter how good..at this stage who bloody well cares.... Grab rabbit...make mental note to tell neighbours you saw thier pet hopping off across the gardens when you see em tomorrow...slurp some wine... Cooker should be right temperature by now...take pan...Look for rabbit...hit rabbit...put in pot... Slupr wine...leave rabbit in pot...gas mark 7...switch on football..slurp wine...fall asleep.. British cooking....cant beat it... Oh and I see...to get topical...one of our dolphin friends has gone awol in Iraq....Whats that flipper...guns everywhere...ttttt..tttt..ttt....dangerous flipper?? tttt...tttt..tttt..ttt..tttt..ttt..going to get help? TTTT..ok Flipper see you when you get back.. Dolphin steaks?? Hmmm...nice...
Hey Carl, I've been in America a few years ago and the people were very friendly. So I don't have a problem with Americans. But I - and probably a lot others - don't aggree with the policy of Bush. I hope everything has been solved now.
Thank you Erwin--and I too dont always agree with all of Bush's policies. I hope this war is as short as possible and with as few lives lost as possible--American, Australian, British, Polish and Iraqi. I forget where this saying comes from but--I fully agree with it: "Make War No More."
