    The most infuriarating aspect of the 88s for the allies was that they couldnt even repair shermans hit directly by 88s as the shell had the tendency of penetrating the armour plating and detonating the shells inside the tank. Thus making a weird popcorn noise and completely obliterating the tank.

    Just about all the German anti-tank shells (Pzgr.39, Pzgr.39/42 and Pzgr.39/43) used by 1944 contained explosive filler, which would destroy the interior of any Allied tank.

    The majority of German conventional anti-tank guns by then was still the 7,5 cm Pak L/48, though.

    I believe that we all agree that Kursk and operation Goodwood are both strong contenders for th best lage tank battles?
