I don't like the looks of the IS3 but you can't deny it's one of the most modern-looking tanks built during WW2. However, technically the IS3 wasn't a WW2 vehicle, not having seen any action during the Great Patriottic War.
i don't want to nag about it as it's a Tank forum but did you make some pics of that Yak-9???? You can see it's tail in one of your pics (the one with the truck/katjusha launcher) wich are btw great!
I have a couple more pictures from Bolo, this time from Minsk. I will post them one by one since they are fairly large.
No, they are sealed. Hopefully next time I go to Moscow I will have it so arranged that I can go to Kubinka. I thought it was a regular museum but it is not. While a Russian can go to it with their everyday ID a foreigner cannot because it is on a military base. For a large sum of money they will even let you play with one of the tanks :smok: but I hear it is $3000.00 for an hour  and I am not paying that. When I was in Belgorod it was kind of nice, a few days later in Minsk it was so cold that a half litre of coke froze solid in my backpack in about 25 minutes. About -20c I think if not colder. I really think that the winter weather in Russia is a natural weapon that they have and I pity the unprepared agressor.
Great Pics! In #5, what is the gun with the huge shield on the far right? That IS-3 looks even more formidable with that snow on... Scary...
