Today I was listening to NPR, trying to escape network and cable "news" and heard about this film and it sounded extremely interesting. It is a German film not about fighting the Allies but set in early 1945. A German deserter finds a Captain's uniform and puts it on for its clothing valve. He is mistaken for a Captain and soldiers gather around him and he changes into what they expect of him and becomes increasingly brutal, even killing a deserter. The reviewer says it is extremely violent, warlike and shows the disintegration of the German Army in the late Winter of 45. The mayhem is German on German. I presume the true title to be "Der Kapitän" The review was well written by a true film critic and comes highly recommended though it is clear it is not about heroics and winning. Emphasis on not your usual WW2 film. I was intrigued but have not looked it up, was about too. Anyone aware of it? Off to do research, Gaines

I saw the trailer for it about 3 months ago, I also think it looks quite interesting, and I appreciate any WW2 films depicting the Axis side of things.
