    Nuclear depth charges are a standard weapon for nuclear countries.

    Heck we missed by a 1/2 a mile, but your still dead.

    Wouldn't surprise me if our attack subs don't also carry nuclear tipped torps for the same reason. Of course this take all the skill out of warfare.

    Also given the speed the fleet was dispatched they had to be left onboard. It's not like they can just leave them on the quay until they get back.

    There would never be any intention to use them but they are still there. They are also very safe and wouldn't have been detonated if the ship was struck.

    I don't know I'd say the skill comes into it in trying to get into a position where you're close enough to launch the weapon but not so close that you cave in your own hull.

    There is that. Getting sunk by your own weapon really adds insult to injury! :cool:
