    They did great, especially the Goumiers who went through the mountains with their mules and therefore could get through areas were motorized vehicles could not get and take the Germans by surprise. The Mules carried amno, guns and supplies the men walked until they took a valley and when this was secured, the vehicles could get through via this new captured road as well.
