I believe they (politicians) work at this..."Pink Elephant"..."Red Herring" stuf to avoid real work, and to divert attention away from the fact that they're doing nothing worth the money they're getting paid, but much too busy, and too devoted to change horses in the middle of the stream...Yada Yada Yada.

I think this is definately the wave of the (our) futures. It's already started, and it WILL "Snowball" itself into every aspect of behavior, and human nature. Since it's impossible to please everyone, there will ever be someone who's "offended" by any/every thing.

Politicians have grasped this (are hiding behind this) as a "Do Good", "Feel Good" CRUSADE for extra taxes. Yes your/my fines are nothing but extra taxes, which is their (politicians) bottom line.

That's what they do...collect tax money, and spend it. Usually upon themselves as raises, perks, and pensions.
I'm afraid there's no stopping it now until we (US) have a "Patomic" Tea Party, and throw them, their desks and chairs into the river and start over.

There used to be a short lived group called TtheRO = Throw the Rascals Out!
