Better watch that smugness Joe, as I certainly wouldn't call the neubaufahrzeug either the first, or particularly unknown.
    (How's that for smugness :D )

Shock, the Japanese vehicle is an SS-KI engineer vehicle, jack of all trades... master of none. (I was once accused of it being an entry in robot wars, which is probably not a bad suggestion)

    Cheers,
    Adam.

I think we got a winner! (this has GOT to at least be in the Top 5!)

"What did YOU do in the war, Daddy?"
    "O-h-h-h..... I flew tanks."

sweet top five, it was tested in like 1942. It is a Russian t-60 combined with an Antonov plane. Von poop, the version I must have seen was a flamethrower tank.

I still hesitate to believe the Antonov 40 ever made it off the ground, despite claims to the contrary... the one in that picture surely didn't, as it's a model :D.

It's another project we can likely blame the 'irrepressible' (ahem) J Walter Christie for in origin, here's his take on such a scheme:
    Christie Flying Tank

Shock, on the SS-KI, If I recall, yes, it carried a flamethrower, among other strange machinery, none of which seemed to work too well.

Scarface, in my post there are 47 letters, 11 spaces and 4 pieces of punctuation.
Though a large gap between the third piece of punctuation and the third letter.
    I can't believe I just counted that.
