Heh heh, I got you there. Richard burton was that RAF Pilot who was badly wounded in the lag-which was pinned together with "Safety pins." I can't remember the name of the person whom played that Pegasuws Bridge Commander-its on the tip of my tongue, but????

Politicans...............?? **********!!! What do the people think?? I always have & always will say 'God Bless America'..............(Specially South of Mason-Dixie.....) My dad grew up next to a Yank airbase during WW2, the guys there shared everything with the locals, it may be fashionable in some quarters here to sneer at America but I'll always be proud to be a Confederate............... sorry, Yank..............!!
I've always been so warmly greeted Stateside.........probably better than Yanks over here.............

    It's Special to me anyway!!!

    Don't forget "The Drover's Dog"......AUSTRALIA.

Where on earth would you be without a country that gave you not one but TWO Minogue sisters?....

Pound for pound, we beat the crap out of the superpowers when it comes to the Summer Olympics....hows that for "special"!

On a more serious note, apparently Canada-bashing is the in-thing for the British media. Makes me sad.

I can't say I've seen it, not recently anyhow. Aside from the winter olympics Canada hardly makes our press.

Sounds like normal poor Brit paper reporting. Its hardly headline news in any papers here, apart from a spread in Daily Mail of which I wont comment as many here have their own views of that particular organ...my own go back as far as nazi worship before ww2...all rest are hidden in sports sections which is why none of us here would ever find em.

I did a quick trawl of international press...Look on newsnow site...Brits rubbish is just a drop in ocean and comparable to rest of worlds press coverage on the same matter. Not to defend British press at all..I'd be last to do that, I read something in a paper I know its as true as a politicians mouth moving. But we do have quite a large number of press toilet paper roll over here compared to many others. But internationally, the story seems to have been covered similarly by other nations press.

It would be a simple thing to go to Canadian press to see how they covered similar occurances thay have happened in Britian in the past few years...Papers sell headlines. Anyone who takes em seriously needs to look at why newspapers exist. But this story is far from front page stop the press headlines over here, which is why some of us asked the question as to where we could find this rubbish.

    Hello macrusk,

I do not see any bashing of Britain towards Canada either.

But beware of that southern neighbor of yours  all I can say is Canadian Bacon :D

    Regards
    Kruska

U.K. press slams Canada's hosting of Games | Sympatico.ca News

It was Olympics related, but it was the rest of the attitude underlying it which caught my attention. Obviously caught others attention for the Canadian Press to bother reporting about it. Perhaps we're feeling a little sensitive while in the spotlight....
