Hi Erich, Bish, Fried: I had no access to a computer yesterday to reply--library was closed Subday and will be next sunday--BOY was I ever bored. Erich: I remember when EK1s in mint condition were way over priced at $80.00. I remember Knights Crosses going for $100.00! Bish: And with those lovely ladies presant when you and your mates are out doing pushups--who needs hands? It will be awhile before I can get the poster out to make you a copy, but I am planning on that soon as I need to make sure it has acid-free backing paper as backing. At that time I can get you one made. Currently, I have 6 things you might be interested in that I can have done anytime: 1) I have an original movie poster to an old war movie--nothing special but, the movie is: "Away All Boats" with Jeff Chandler--not a bad movie, but not in the top 10 either. The poster was from a theater in Michigan and is interesting to look at. Also, I have 5 original pages from Harpers Weekly Magazine from the 1800's that all are of scenes depicting Imperial German Soldiers--and or Imperial German leaders. My favorite scens is of about a dozen German Officers sitting around a table during somekind of manovers--looks really cool and is my favorite of the 5. My 2nd fav is one showing Friedrich-Wilhelm von Pruessen (the 99 day Kaiser) in uniform. These are all from what they call--woodcut prints--and are very welldone. If interested in some of these--please let me know--I can make them anytime as well. "F" I didnt see any medals? Just very pretty women at their cutist.
Carl, i said it before, and i will say it again, you are a true gentelmen. I onlyasked if you knew if copies were avaiable, and here you are offering to make me one. But this time, please do me the honour of letting me re-emburse you. And if you won't take cash, just let me know if there is anything you want that you cannot get hold of there, but i might be able to get.
Thank you again kind sir. No need for reimbursements--its all a part of the job BUT, if you feel you have to send me anything--how about a box of Westminster Tea? I havent had any since Susanne and I were staying at the Botel in Wilhelmshaven in 2000. Ahh...............I still remember that night well. We had met a very nice married couple from Switzerland, and we all sat at this tiny table next to a window in the lounge area--watching the waves and the water spray against the sides of our Botel and talking about daily things in our respective countries. GOD, I sure do love Europe and miss it.
