Drogba from Nigeria is supporting his buddy Anelka . Anelka got his sorry ass back to London (he plays at Chelsea) . Good riddance. Can't wait until France plays South Africa and they all end this pathetic soap opera. In two days the nightmare will be gone and I hope they will show up with a real team in 2016, not a bunch of millionaire yobs.
I will support the Netherlands now .

Just shows the depth at which the problem is in France. I support the players in their actions - imagine how things really are and how long there have been problems for it to finally boil over into the public right now. It certainly makes their final game of the tournament that much more interesting. I dare say they will boycott the game, but something is certainly rotten in France.

England on the chopping block too. Things need to change in their camp too.

As for todays game, Spain need a win and Portugal are getting all they can handle out of the Communists, I mean North Korea, so far.

Mussolini , I believe you are too nice and understanding with these guys. They have disapointed too many people (fans, sponsors, people who believed in them ) to have my respect. The public does certainly no longer support this team, nor their coach. Who do they think they are ? People quit their jobs, drove or flew over 10.000 km to see what? A bunch of irresponsible players who make themselves and their colours look ridiculous in front of the Whole world. It's a bloody shame, they are a disgrace to those who supported them and to those who won the world cup in 1998 and the Euro cup in 2000, they are but the shadows of the 2006 team. Their behaviour is pathetic and all they can do is fight and now they dared go on strike?
They should all be fired . South Africa needs to score 5 times to carry on the fight, I'm starting to think even this would be possible the day after tomorrow if this farce goes on. 48 hours to go.......

Ray, believe me , beter a bad team, than no team at all , so the Uk still has a honorable record in my opinion.

See, you're blaming the players too much. Its the organization to blame. The players have major issues with their coach and staff, and have for years, but its only know boiling up to the public service. Players aren't happy with the coach or the coaching decisions, there is a great divide between players and staff, and no team-mentality because of it. If anything, the players are unified - on the matter of the coach and coaching staff. The fact that Anelkas words with the coach became public show that some one in the organization is telling people things that he should not be telling.

I agree that the players can be a little stuck up at times, but the real problem relies with the staff above them in this case.

And Portugal is running away with the game now - Ronaldo still hasn't showed up though.

Certainly puts Brazil and Portugal as favorites to win the group. Brazil will need to beat Portugal by 2 and Ivory Coast will need to beat NKorea by 8 for them to go in ahead of Portugal.

Well we are minutes away from the start of Round 3. Group games are played at the same time now, so that teams are forced to play all 90 minutes (instead of slacking off if they know they're in) so should provide some good matches. Mexico vs Uruguay has potential, unless both teams decide to play for a Draw which would see them in. But neither team would want to face Argentina next round, so hopefully we get a good game. France vs SA, on the other hand - well, who knows what will happen given the implosion of France.

I hope too Muss, they are playing right now, if they don't win 4-0 VS South Africa, they will go from one Coach (trainer) to another (the bus that takes them to the airport) , but even if they win, they won't have my respect back.

Well, that is France done. Red-card and PK (i think - watching the Mexico game). 20 minutes in. Looks like SA will end with a win but not advancement.

Well, SA needs to score as many goals as they can. Going into the game, they had 1 GF and 4 GA. So they need 3 to break even, and Mexico needs to give up 2 goals in order for SA to go through. SA needs at least 4 if not 5 to go through.

It's official, Uruguay and Mexico out from Group A. Next for Mexico is Argentina.

On the bright side for France they became the first team in this years World Cup to score while down a man:rolleyes:

I guess they´ll be celebrating in Dublin?! ( remember the Henry handball helping to score them to the WC games against Ireland ). Poor football by the French and very poor team spirit. Let´s hope it´s not going to be the same with England. At least John Terry apologized.

I would have preferred to see the Irish in the WC then the French (and the Irish certainly deserved to have been there). Would have made for much better soccer IMHO, and maybe the first fairytale of the WC.

South Africa is even with Mexico on Wins, but is -3 on goal differential while Mexico is +1 on goal differential, which puts them in ahead of South Africa.
