Ray. I'm with you on the argentina game, but the Greeks couldn't score in a Scouse council house. I'll give it to the Nigerians. The French led by the worst coach since Louis the XVI isn't getting much from Mexico, so agreed on that too.

great minds eh jaeger, yeh, greece are pretty poor, but I like to go for a chancey one, hopefully! with greece hitting the target, and finding that little bit of magic/LUCK, as when they won the euro championships..

Argentina should win, but might just pull off a 2 - 1 style win.

Greece and Nigeria...interesting matchup. I could well see this one finishing 1 - 1.

France vs Mexico should be the best game to watch today. If France plays to its potential, I have them ahead 3 - 1 over Mexico.

    Haha alright.

Likewise, if they do score :)

Argentina leading 2-0 with only one shot on target all match!

Ha, ha I can imagine old Louis play football , isn't that a quote from Cantona? ;) Let's us not crucify him too fast, the french should beat Mexico , if not they deserve to go home

In my defence though, they did need a man advantage to do it.....

    Skipper.

Indeed it is a Cantona quote.

They need to sort out the dressing room issue or else...

The trouble is that the whole team behaves like Rock stars and sleep in a luxurious five star palace, visiting Safari parks and banning the press most of the time . They climb in their bus for a 100m distance , just so they can avoid their fans, even though some of them left their job to cross 2 continents to see them. If you compare this with other teams who sleep in University campus or one star hotels , you understand why they don't have support from most of their own people.
personnally I hate to be forced to pay part of my Tv tax so that their matches can be shown on Tv ... If I had the choice I'd pay less and would not bother watching them .

To be fair, they need to have a certain mentality to play. If you're being hounded by the press and can't settle into your pregame rituals, you're going to be mentally off all game. Going on Safaris etc helps them relax - how would you feel having the weight of your nation resting on your shoulders? The press has scheduled times post-match to talk to players. Professional players are used to being on a bus - part of the pregame ritual - and none of them are within walking distance of the stadium. Besides, why tire your legs when you can sit down and travel the same distance? Exposure to fans while walking to a Stadium would cause utter mayhem in the streets, not to mention security risk etc.

Anyways, Mexico vs France is minutes away. Hopefully its an entertaining one but I do fancy France to win this game.

Amazing! The singing could *just* be heard over those damn horns for once! Sounds more like Mexican fans (cheered for a mexican free kick)...sorry, just a nostalgic moment there. Singing is the atmosphere of soccer, not ear-drum destroying horns.

Good point Muss, I might amend my opinion IF they win vs the Mexicans. I'll go watch now and will be back after the match.

I took your comments to apply to all Footballers, not just the French ;)

France has certainly been a huge disappointment. I wouldn't blame the players though - their coach is the one failing to bring together the right people and instill comradeship and unity in the team. You could make a team of Messi Clones and under the right coach it would dominate, under the wrong coach it would fail no matter how good the players are. This seems to have been the problem with France over the past several years - England to an extent too (and missing some certain types of players - while the US is a prime example of a cohesive team that doesnt really have any world class players.
