WHAT!?!? That is THE most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! I don't go anywhere without a pocket knife. I can't count how many times those can come in handy. From day to day tasks to self defense even if necessary. I have a feeling if you really wan't to do some harm to someone you are going to pick a better "weapon" than a Swiss Army knife.
One thing I will say is that if a politician likes soemthing, you can bet your boots that it aint going to be banned!

Ok Gordon the gloves are indeed off. I see no other sensible solution than to load the longship and aid my kinsmen in Looney land.(british isles) What's next? Here is a selection and explanation. Ban 'Rule Britannia' It may lead to Nationalistic ideas in the nations youth. Ban pictures of W.S Churchill. He was smoking sigars, better yet to remove him from history. Lord Hallifax is a better rolemodel because he looks so incredibly average. Change God save the Queen/King to: Some Pantheon protect the Royal Monarch. In this manner no religious groups nor people fighting for equallity of the sexes are offended by it. Ban the Ashes. It may offend the Jewish communities. Tear down or change the name of Big Ben. It is sexist and may cause insecurity with young lads in their teens. (Bod Fergus in Scotland is in the same group) Ban the popular song 'London Bridge is falling down' It may cause Paranoid travelers to be reluctant to cross this bridge.
I do believe the council stepped in and put a stop to that, bit of a surprise that was from a council. What about changing primary school story's and poems? Jack and Jack went up the hill, yes the gay issue came back recently they wanted to teach children of primary school age all about gay sex. And when you kick up a stink at them they play the gay card at you. Have these people taken in to account the age group of these children? Fortunately for the moment this issue has crawled back down the hole but it will be back that's for sure.
Aw jesus, I love this one! School bans knotted ties in safety fears! www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=443294&in_page_id=1770
Gordon, they do have a point. Once I managed to cath my penis in my trousers zipper and I can assure you it hurts, so yes, I am ready to give my support to any campaign for penial safety. The necktie being in the main an article of male attire - although not necessarily so - I suppose it will be cognate to the former. So, boys, keep you tie and your pecker safely tucked away until occasion demands it.
I love this quote in the article above by the judge: "In some societies, it might be regarded as obvious that a person convicted of a criminal offence and sentenced to a period of imprisonment should, for the duration of his imprisonment, be deprived of his civil rights. "Such a notion has no place in our society." {Italics and color mine} So, by the judge's notion a prisoner has a right to say the addresses and other personal information of the guards and staff that would be public domain for any other citizen? Or that of his victims? Or, what about his right to vote? If sufficent prisoners signed a petition or voted to decriminalize their activities while in prison they should be released? It is absolutely insane....INSANE to think that a person convicted of a serious crime should not be deprived of any of his civil rights. This judge is an absolute idiot. How could a.....well, he probably was a lawyer......so that explains that.....
In the 1980's, a Federal Judge named William Wayne Justice decided Texas State Prisons were inhuman due to overcrowding and thousands of cons were released early. Some were formal death row inmates who got off death row because at the time they said the death penitlity was inhuman. One such inmate named Kenneth McDuff had killed three people in the 60's was released and he prompty killed three more people. By this time the death penitlity was OK again and he was put on the fast track for execution. Of course it did not help the six innocent people he killed and tortured and raped. Carl may remember this sad event in Texas history.
Aye, Glenochil is actually in my neck of the woods, Richard. Funnily enough I was reading the European Convention on Human Rights the other day (Yes, I know I'm a saddo), and nowhere does it ban execution for those duly convicted of a capital offence, or prohibit people being deprived of their liberty including criminals, lunatics, vagrants, alcoholics and drug addicts. Makes you wonder how many "liberals" have actually bloody read it.
